Life Lately…

It’s been a moment since I’ve been able to sit down and write here, and with the return to “back-to-school life,” it feels like we’re finally settling back into some of our normal rhythms and routines—which also means the return of “regularly” scheduled blog posts (term used loosely).

I always find this time of year to be a bit of an in-between. We’re definitely still in the thick of summer, but with the girls back at school and our usual routines falling back into place, it somehow feels like the start of a new season.

Keeping things short and simple today with a quick recap of the past three weeks. I’m hoping to get a few travel guides up from our recent Europe trip soon, along with getting back to more of the practical fashion posts I love sharing here.

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! xx

(Headed up to The Itsy Bitsy Bugalow for the last full weekend before school started… great memories with the family…. if you’re looking for a place to stay in Santa Barbara, it’s available and beautiful in the fall… open knit tank, denim shorts, low back bodysuit, hat, flip flops, white linen pants, red workout shorts, red workout tank, bubble hem jacket, taupe silk/satin shorts)

(Came home to our new Tin Can phone… very circa 1990… and teaching proper phone etiquette to the girls has been fun…)

(Lots of straightening up around the house and getting everything organized for the start of a new year… )

(And back into my morning workout routines… shorts, bra, pullover)

(Last Friday family lunch before heading back ot school… top, shorts, bag (another very similar bag))

(RH for a daytime lunch date… shorts, sweater)

(A summer tomato party to celebrate a birthday… shorts, sweater, bag)

(Birthday celebrations for my dad…)

If you’re looking for some good fall transitional pieces, this striped sweater I purchased last spring was restocked and works great with shorts, or a lightweight morning layer. I also have this cardigan in the beautiful coco color, and it works in the same way…

My favorite driving mules are also back in stock… so easy to slide on and go… and incredibly comfortable. They work in the transitional season with shorts as well.

Something I’m adding to my wardrobe this season is the perfect fitting suede jacket. I have settled over the years, and this year I’m investing. I had my eye on this suede jacket towards the end of last spring but our season was too mild to justify purchasing it towards the end of cooler months, but this year it’s in my cart…

And if you want an easy way to incorporate changing seasons without sweaters and jeans, then a simple chocolate brown cap will do the trick…

A few things I have my eye on for the fall, like this cashmere silk tee, chocolate faux suede dress, and this sheer chocolate brown oversized button down.
