Spring Break in Cabo San Lucas: Where to Stay, Eat + What I Packed

A couple of weeks ago (though it somehow feels like months ago at this point), we headed down to Cabo San Lucas for spring break. With it being a quick and easy two-hour flight from Southern California—and no time difference—it really is one of the simplest luxury getaways for a few days away.

The water is that perfect shade of blue, the weather is consistently warm (with the best breeze this time around), the people are incredibly kind, and the food scene in Cabo San Lucas has truly evolved over the years.

Where We Stayed in Cabo San Lucas

We’ve been fortunate to visit Cabo several times, and this trip we split our stay between The One & Only Palmilla and one night at the Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol.

One & Only Palmilla Review

The grounds at the One & Only Palmilla are absolutely stunning—beautiful, traditional Mexican architecture layered with lush greenery throughout. It’s also set on one of the only truly swimmable beaches in Cabo, which makes such a difference when traveling with kids.

You have both beachside and poolside options, but we found ourselves gravitating toward the beach most days, taking full advantage of the ocean and the activities offered (kayaking and boogie boarding were favorites for the girls).

The service was incredibly warm and attentive, and overall it was such a special stay.

If I’m being completely transparent, food and beverage pricing felt quite high, and the rooms are slightly dated—but neither took away from the overall experience. The setting alone makes it worth it.

Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol Review

For our final night, we headed over to the Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, which felt like a complete shift in style—in the best way.

Where the One & Only leans traditional, the Four Seasons feels fresh, modern, and newly renovated. The property is beautifully designed, with thoughtful details like colorful tile work throughout. There’s a stunning adults-only pool, along with a great family pool, making it feel versatile depending on your travel style.

The beach here isn’t as swimmable, but there are still beachside activities available.

While we only stayed for about 24 hours, the food really stood out (don’t miss brunch), and the service was just as friendly and attentive. It’s a completely different feel from the One & Only, but equally beautiful—just depends on your preference.

Restaurants From This Trip in Cabo San Lucas

As far as dining off-property, we made our way to a few favorites:

  • Flora Farms (San José del Cabo) – Always a go-to for brunch. It’s such a beautiful setting and perfect for a slower morning with friends.
  • Acre Baja – Often considered Flora’s “rival,” and just as special. The food was incredible, and the girls loved seeing the farm animals.
  • NickSan Cabo – Fresh, delicious sushi and especially convenient if you’re staying at the One & Only Palmilla.

What I Packed for Cabo

I kept my packing focused on pieces that could transition easily—resort to everyday—so nothing felt overly “vacation-only.” Think easy dresses, lightweight layers, simple sandals, and pieces that can mix back into your everyday wardrobe once you’re home.
