Well, happy Friday friends. We have a man cold on our hands over here…. so “we’re” all battling through that. Kidding, kidding (well, slightly…), but needless to say, happy our short week is over + ready for the weekend. We’ll be trying to get Camille’s nursery in order + begin working on our home office this weekend…. so hoping we can make some progress on that front….
When I was looking at the calendar this past week, I couldn’t believe that we were halfway through October. I feel as if once Halloween hits, Thanksgiving + Christmas arrive before we know it. That being said, I know that there is so much travel surrounding holidays and the weeks leading up to them. So today I rounded up the four items I always rely on when traveling… in case you’re looking to travel in style + comfort this fall season!
1. Comfortable Pants: Ok, jeans are really not an option for me when I travel. I mean, you’re already squished into a small little area for several hours (depending on where you’re headed) and the last thing I need is something cutting into my waistline. My favorite bottoms to travel in are these Lou + Grey joggers, Zella high waisted leggings, Michael Stars knit joggers (identical option here), Beyond Yoga fold over sweats, and this Bobi jersey jumpsuit. All items are pieces that I regularly wear while traveling, high ranking in the comfort zone, and are equally as stylish.
2. Base Layer: I typically dress in layers when flying, sometimes when driving (we all have different air temperature preferences…. I run cold, TJ + Harper run hot… we’re undecided about Camille at the moment…). I typically opt for a basic tee to layer under my comfortable cardis + pullovers. Some of my favorite base layers include this button-up thermal, oversized distressed tee, and this basic white tank. All look great solo, and easily layer under something warmer.
3. Cozy Top Layer: If you can’t tell from the photos already, a slightly oversized, super comfortable, top layer is always a must-have for me. Something I can easily toss on + off given the varying temperatures. My favorites include this cable knit cardigan, Barefoot Dreams cardigan, Abercrombie pullover, + this Lou + Grey sweatshirt. All are soft, slightly oversized, + keep me nice + warm.
4. Practical Shoes: During the summer months, I’m prone to wearing sandals while traveling…. they’re just so easy to toss on + off. But for the cooler months, I love anything that’s closed toed + equally as easy to kick on + off (especially at the airport… it’s not easy taking off shoes when you’re baby wearing…). Any comfortable sneaker will do the trick (I like to tie my laces so I don’t have to untie + tie them back up… and these Reebok’s are great too), but I also think the Birdie loafers I’ve shared several times make a really comfortable, stylish, + practical option.
So as we prep for the fall season ahead… and all the holiday travel that comes with it… I’ll be reaching for these travel basics over + over!
