The Shoes I Reach For All Fall Season…

It’s funny to think that 15 years ago, I loved a good stiletto heel… the extra 4″ of height didn’t even make me flinch. Now? I think I’d topple over, and my calves would be recovering for days. Needless to say, those days are gone, haha.

This new era requires that shoes be comfortable, practical, and versatile… and, of course, I still want them to pull an outfit together. I love a beautiful flat boot, a comfortable everyday flat, and a good pair of sneakers. For evenings, a kitten heel will do… just enough height to make things feel a little more dressed up, while still allowing me to comfortably walk back to the car at the end of the night.

I’ve also found that the right pair of shoes can make familiar pieces feel a little different. Jeans and a sweater with sneakers for a busy weekday, then the same combination with an embellished flat or kitten heel for dinner… a small shift, but one that makes getting dressed easier without needing an entirely different outfit.

So if you’re anything like me, I’ve rounded up some of my go-to shoes for the fall season below… the pairs I’ve been reaching for repeatedly to pull my outfits together and keep my feet happy. Comfortable enough for everyday life, with those little details that make even a simple outfit feel considered.
