I have always been one to have an affinity for special pieces of jewelry. I tend to collect pieces that tell a story, or evoke a memory within me when I wear it. It all started one summer, in junior high, when my mom and I went on a quest to find me the perfect anklet. I had it visualized in my mind. It would be beaded and have multi colored flowers. Nothing else would suffice. We went to craft shows, The Sawdust Festival (for those of you native to Southern California you know where we were), and small beach boutiques with no success. Just as the summer was coming to an end, we came across the exact match at a trinket shop on Balboa Island. We had family in town and were celebrating being together. We just happened to stumble into the shop, and there it was. Summer mission complete.
Ever since then, the quest has continued and my jewelry box has grown with various pieces. This summer, I found the perfect piece to embody my sentiments about the summer season with this Trollbeads bracelet. With their customizable pieces, I was able to create a bracelet that uniquely matched my current feelings. I chose the pink conch bead and the pink petals bead to capture both mine and TJ’s excitement for the upcoming arrival of our baby girl. The starfish bead was the quintessential piece to embody an ever-growing family. I can’t wait to add to this piece as my memories with my growing family continue.
