Weekend Recap ||

I can always tell when it was a full, fun, weekend when I can barely keep my eyes open at 8:15 on a Sunday (well, in this case, Monday) night. Which is exactly the case as we come to the end of a wonderful three days spent with friends and family at the pool, eating good food, and enjoying wonderful company. And as the weekend comes to a close, it’s hard to believe that the “unofficial” end of summer is upon us…

I’m typically ready for fall around this time of the year… but I was chatting with a friend this past week, we both agreed that we’re not quite ready to let go of the summer season. Despite school being in session, and sports in full swing, there is still something about a summer weekend that I’m fully enjoying. I’m sure come September 23rd I’ll be itching to pull out the oversized sweaters, make my favorite soup, and turn the fireplace on… but until then we’ll be over here soaking in the last remnants of the summer season.

And with that, I hope everyone had a wonderful couple of days and a great week ahead (at least it’s a short one…)!
_____

** September’s capsule wardrobe is gong out tomorrow….

(Casual Friday outfit for a quick drive south… shorts, top)

(Headed down south to San Diego for 36 hours… loved the Alila Marea… such a beautiful spot)

(Starting the long weekend off with beautiful views and some libations… cardigan (another option), jeans, tank, earrings)

(An uncharacteristically drizzly morning…)

(Family hike… loved Annie’s Canyon Trail…. leggings, sports bra, sneakers, cap, pullover)

(Then breakfast at The Naked Cafe…)

(Met up with friends for some pool time…)

(Then back home for a BBQ with family at my sister + BIL’s… dress, sandals)

(S’mores to close out the weekend….)

_____

Found some cute fall arrivals under $100… like these silver ballet flats, black and white striped sweater (very similar to the Jenni Kayne Chloe sweater…), utility jacket, chic quilted vest, and this oversized chambray shirt

If you’re on the fence about the “cargo” trend going around, I found a few options that I am considering trying (all are a more slim fit, higher rise, versus the low slung baggier options I’ve seen out there)… this olive pair, this sand colored option, and this slim fitting charcoal pair.

I love this sweetheart neckline, black jumpsuit as an alternative to a dress for a fall wedding… so chic and beautiful…
