Weekend Recap || The Last Night

“Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life….”

We typically attend the more “youthful” service that our church offers… but on Easter Sunday we head into the main sanctuary, with the rest of my family, and partake in the more elaborate service. As we were leaving, one of my grandmother’s friends softly grabbed my arm and said “How special to be having this baby during the Easter season.”

To be honest, I’ve been so wrapped up in when she will come… tying up loose ends, making sure I had things in line for Harper when we have to head to the hospital, and trying to enjoy the last few nights of quality sleep… that I hadn’t given much thought to the fact that our daughter is coming into the world during this beautiful season on hope + renewal… and that she is, in fact, new life.

So while I spent much of the weekend praying + hoping that she would arrive on her own, we head in this morning (well, tomorrow morning as I type this) to be induced (I have a very small birth canal… as determined Harper’s birth, so my doctor doesn’t want to go too far past my due date to prevent a c-section). And while I’m full of nerves, excitement, and anticipation… I am also reminded of the beauty new life brings.

I’ve have pre-prepped posts for this week to be able to take some time off to be sleepless (haha) + bond with our new little bundle of joy… and make that transition to a family of 4. I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead and I’ll be back with an update soon!

(One of those two days in a row outfits… dress (identical), jacket, slides, tote)

(Back by the fire pit for an Easter brunch… few more days and I can partake!)
______

Can’t wait to be able to wear bodysuits again… I also love how perfect they look with jeans + denim shorts. A few favorites right now include this cute floral option, black square neck bodysuit, and this blush + white striped bodysuit.

I bought this super cute convertible white ruffle skirt… it can be worn as a skirt, or dress, and I think it will be great postpartum and in the summer months too!

I also recently purchased this side button sweater tank + cozy pullover…. always love Lou + Grey pieces for style + comfort… as well as these draped joggers + striped tank… both great for feeling pulled together in postpartum life.

Um, this wide brimmed hat is amazing…. if you’re looking to shade your face this should do the trick!

A few things I’ve been living in this last week include this vintage tee (so comfortable), fringe v-neck sweater (I actually bought it last season and it’s back in stock), comfy distressed joggers, and my raffia slides (I’ve worn these so much since they arrived…).

Our patio furniture arrives Tuesday and I’m considering buying this side table to go with the set-up… we also purchased this outdoor rug.

I know I’ve shared these bike shorts before… but I’m seriously considering them. I think they’d be such a stylish postpartum, comfortable, option….

My favorite embroidered tunic for spring + summer was just restocked in so many gorgeous colors!
