I hope everyone had a wonderful end to 2022 and a great start to 2023!
Our end, and beginning, definitely wasn’t what we were expecting. Christmas Eve morning, Harper woke up with a very mild cough, so I gave her a COVID test out of caution. I knew we were going to be around vulnerable individuals, so I wanted to make sure that we could all enjoy the holiday season without worry.
We’re no strangers to COVID tests, but for the past 2.5 years, they’ve always come back negative. So it was a shock to actually see that second line… let alone on Christmas Eve. After a few ugly cries to family saying that we wouldn’t be partaking in the family celebrations this year, we decided to make the best of the holiday (TJ made a great prime rib, and we enjoyed some champagne tasting) and cross our fingers no one else would get it. We each ended up falling, several days apart, which meant that all the plans during the break were canceled (TJ and I had a parent’s night in Malibu planned, and then a couple of days away with the girls… and my birthday and Harper’s family birthdays that ended up being canceled). We were fortunate enough that we all had mild cases (I did have a visit to the ER, via ambulance at the direction of my healthcare provider and paramedic, for a low heart rate, all day dizziness, and odd heart contractions… luckily everything checked out alright), and while we weren’t able to mingle with others, we were still able to heat our pool for a swim, eat delicious birthday cake, and play numerous games of UNO junior.
When TJ and I were reflecting on the past 16 days Saturday night, we weren’t super positive about it (and we usually try to be). Then when we asked Harper and Camille if they were ready to go back to school they both said something along the lines of being excited to see their friends again, but that they had a lot of fun during the break. TJ and I immediately looked at one another. It warmed our hearts and reminded us that sometimes all you need is the comfort of your home, lazy mornings and days, family, and a few (ok, way more than a few) competitive games of UNO junior to make some time off pretty special.
And with that, I hope everyone has a good week ahead!

I had a gift certificate to Sezane and purchased these super cute jeans (I’d had my eye on them for months- and they are so cute in person!), blush faux wrap sweater, and scoop back bodysuit (so beautiful!).
Can’t wait to wear these running gloves on my morning run this week (temps are going to be cold…)! Also, love this mixed media jacket in ivory!
If you have a warm weather winter getaway planned, my favorite ivory crinkle swimsuit, blush suit, and black two piece (bottoms) were restocked! Also, this striped linen button down and my favorite straw bucket hat were all restcoked as well.
