I’ve always admired the messy updos that are splashed all over Pinterest. Yet, when it came down to actually executing one, I tended to fail miserably, or simply didn’t know where to start. Until last year, on one of our European adventures. We had returned from a day of site seeing (and, admittedly, sangria drinking) and were preparing for our night out. I simply did not want to fuss with my hair but didn’t really know what to do with it. So I whipped out my curling iron and started curling. Completely unsatisfied with the limp looks of my locks, I pulled it back and went bobbie pin crazy! The result? A tousled, simple chignon.
{Curl the front, face framing pieces of hair away from your face by wrapping the pieces around the open barrel. Then continue with the remaining hair.}
{Gather hair a little above the base of your neck and secure with a hair tie. Then start to pin away, tucking and pinning wherever you want.}
{Pin any loose face framing pieces back until you have the desired amount.}
