We spent the majority of the weekend prepping for, and then celebrating, my sister’s (and BIL’s) soon to be little baby girl with a baby shower. It was a small, close, gathering of family and friends… and it felt so good to see several faces that I hadn’t been with in almost two years…

And as I was setting up for the festivities, I got to thinking about motherhood in general. About how when you’re pregnant, no one can fully prepare you for the journey you’re about to embark upon, because motherhood isn’t a simple destination that we arrive at, it’s a journey that we embark upon the moment that little baby is placed into our arms. It’s one that challenges you, changes you, and shows you parts of yourself you never knew existed… and comes with so many different emotions. It takes a village to raise little ones, and I can’t wait to be apart of that village, being by her (and my BIL’s) side as she begins this new journey… there to celebrate the mom wins, challenges, and everything in between. 

Now we eagerly await little baby Olivia Paige’s arrival this coming January… and all the joy she will add to our family.
