Weekend Fun || At Home Halloween Movie Night

If there is anything I learned after last year, it was that sometimes the smallest things make the biggest impact around the holidays. Fun decorations, festive games… anything veering from the norm gets our little ladies so excited. So when we saw the previews for “Mickey’s Tale Of Two Witches” earlier last week (along with Harper’s excitement at seeing it), I knew it would be a great surprise for them to have an “outdoor spooky movie night.” When we told them about it Saturday morning you’d think we told them they’d won the childhood version of the lottery. They asked about it all day long, and when the time came they loved every minute of it. Harper told my sister the next day “We stayed up so late…” when in reality she went to bed right on time (thankful for it getting darker earlier for giving us that extra special effect… hahah)… and now every night we’re getting asked to do it again. I’d call that a success…

To make the evening a little extra special and festive I made the outdoor area look a little “different…” and for that I visited Walmart’s home section. They basically have everything you need to make any occasion festive this coming season… whether you’re still looking for Halloween, thinking ahead to Thanksgiving, or even further ahead to the holidays. I shopped from their well curated gifts section to pick up this cozy faux fur blanket, which I’ll keep outside to stay warm by the fireplace this season, light up sign to make it feel like a movie night, and these gold rimmed bowls and tray (which I purchased this past summer) to serve the “movie treats.” With their super fast shipping speeds I was able to order on a Tuesday and have the items delivered by Friday afternoon (always grateful for fast + free delivery).

Set-up took about 10 minutes tops, and the memories will last forever… and I can’t wait to do it again around Christmastime… although I’m sure it will be earlier if the girls have anything to do with it! And with that, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead!
