I always love any excuse to get dressed up for a night out, but sometimes, when the weekend rolls around, we’re just tired and want to relax and not have to worry about getting from point A to point B and dealing with crowds. Sometimes there is just something to be said about wearing comfy pants, ordering out, and reconnecting with the person you care about. That being said, when we celebrated TJ’s birthday with family last Friday night with a small group of people (6 to be exact), the attire was “smart comfy,” so that everyone could just relax after a long week.
And as I was looking ahead to the small celebration, I checked out Nordstrom, since they’re always a one stop shop for all things home, attire, and gifts (with such easy shipping)…. everything from this beautiful wooden cheese board (would make a great hostess gift too this holiday season) to this comfy one shoulder bodysuit were available by the weekend and they would be perfect for an at home date night with your significant other. So, as we *slowly* approach the weekend ahead, I wanted to share some easy spicy margaritas and the fiesta inspired appetizer board I put together last weekend (there wasn’t anything left on the board after about 30 minutes….).
SPICY MARGARITAS
2oz Silver Tequila
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tsp agave nectar
Lime flavored sparkling water
Chili Lime Seasoning
Sliced Jalapeños
Combine tequila, lime juice, and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker filled with glass + some sliced jalapeños. Shake. Rub a lime around the rim of a cocktail glass, then out rim down into chili lime seasoning to line the rim. Fill glass with ice. Pour cocktail into the glass, top with a splash of lime flavored sparkling water, + garnish with sliced jalapeños.
FIESTA INSPIRED APPETIZER BOARD
Mango Salsa, Guacamole, Refried Bean Dip, Chips, Sweet Baby Peppers, Watermelon Radishes, Rolled Tacos, Fermented Carrots + Jicama, Cherry Tomatoes
Hope it helps if you’re looking for an easy way to make an at home date night a little more special!
