I’ve been through my fair share of running shoes over the past 13 years… a lot of trial and error… and blisters on the feet… to figure out just what I needed to be comfortable while running, and training. And I realized that the shoes I wear on my feet have a huge impact on the way my body feels after a workout. Basically, low comfort = aches.
Right after I had Camille, and had been cleared to workout again, I decided to treat myself to a new pair of running shoes. I had my eye on the Adidas Ultraboost sneakers for several months, and decided that I was going to give them a try (the reviews were amazing for comfort). I haven’t turned back since, and that was almost 2 years ago…. they feel as if you’re running on clouds and give my feet (and knees) the support they need to power through my longer runs. I wore them all throughout my training for my last half marathon… and I’ll wear them again when I train for another (and TJ loves his pair as well….).
Yet, when I’m cross-training to get stronger for my runs (run/walks, strength. HIIT, etc…), I use different shoes so that I don’t wear out my running shoes (I try to keep them just for running so they can provide me with the most support and comfort…). I was recently in the market for a new pair of sneakers that would fit the bill for all those workouts and decided to start my search at Nordstrom (their selection is super robust with brands like Brooks, Nike, On, Adidas, and more…. I’ve always purchased my running/workout shoes from them)… and ultimately opted to try out the On Cloud X Training Sneaker.
I’ve been using them for two weeks now and they’re great… perfect for run/walks + strength training. They’re incredibly lightweight (maybe the lightest pair of sneakers I’ve ever owned), cushioned with a durable + springy sole, and provide my feet with the support I need. Plus, they’re super chic, which is always an added bonus. If you love the design of the ON sneaker, but want something that can take you on longer runs, they make a running sneaker that has good reviews as well (might have to try them out when I need a new pair of long distance running shoes).
So if you’re in the market for a new pair of running shoes, or running attire (I love this ribbed post run pullover), be sure to check out the great selection at Nordstrom…
Annnnd, if you’re in the market for a fun and festive holiday playlist, I’ve got you covered as well. I put this playlist together Sunday evening for my Monday morning run and it couldn’t have been more fun! If you try it out, I hope you enjoy!!
