Amidst everything going on right now, I seemingly forgot that it was in fact spring. That the days are warming up (with cooler + rainy days sprinkled in there), the evenings are longer, and that nature is blooming (quite a contrast to where we as humans are). So when I was thinking about posts for the week, I thought it would be helpful to round up some spring must-haves. Not just any must haves though. Pieces that, as the title indicates, would be the only 10 I’d take along if that’s all I had room for……
10 BASICS FOR YOUR SPRING WARDROBE
1. Levi’s 501 Distressed Jeans: (see below) I have so many favorite pairs of jeans, but these (and a few other pairs) would be a very versatile option for summer. They’re a lighter, goes with everything, wash, moderate distressing, and the high waisted fit makes them a perfect pair to wear different tops. These run true to size, with a loose fit throughout the body.
2. Everlane Mesh Pullover: (see above) This was on last month’s capsule wardrobe + it will be on April’s as well. It’s a great, lightweight, option for spring. You can easily later something underneath, or wear it solo with a bandeau. I went up one size for a looser fit. It’s currently 25% off until Friday.
3. J. Crew Coatigan: (see above + below) I mean, would it really be a complete wardrobe without this piece? No is my answer. Likely the most versatile piece in my closet and it effortlessly transitions into the spring months as well. 40% off with code SPRING.
4. Crop Tee: (see above) I own this tee in black + white (so, techniucally both colors would come with me into the new season). It’s buttery soft + literally goes with everything high waisted. I can’t recommend this basic tee more.
5. AGOLDE Reese Shorts: (see below) I bought these during shopbop’s last sale and am so happy I did. They’re a slightly longer inseam, with a frayed hem, and a high waist… so they look good with so many different items: the mesh pullover, crop tee + coatigan, a fun top, and anything else you have in your closet already.
6. A Good Sneaker: I love my Golden Goose sneakers, but if you’re looking for a pair at an excellent price point, the Everlane sneakers are perfect. I knot the laces to make them a little edgier, and they come in several different color options as well. Very comfortable and run true to size. They’re also 25% off until Friday.
7. Slide Sandal: I have a few favorites in this category, but the pair that’s taken me through several spring seasons already is my Hermés Oran sandal…. yet this identical pair would be perfect as well. They go with everything + are such a classic style…. wear with shorts, a dress, jeans, joggers…
8. White Joggers: (see above) White joggers quickly became my obsession the past several months…. so when I went on a mission to find the perfect pair, I found a few at different price points and they would all be great options. I love my Greats pair (linked above)… the fit is perfect + the length, for a petite gal, quickly made them my favorites (I bought them on sale, but they’re no longer available at that price). I also really love the Athleta oversized joggers and this h&m pair (that pair is not petite friendly). I think a white jogger goes with everything and looks super chic and pulled together.
9. Everlane Black Slipdress: (see above) While I don’t wear dresses often, I do think having a beautiful slipdress in the closet is an easy option. I can easily wear this to lunch, date night, church, or a happy hour out with friends. Wear with sneakers, slides, mules, a denim jacket, leather jacket, or a sweatshirt. It’s that versatile and will easily transition into summer. It’s 25% off this week as well.
10. Fun Top white + Fun Top Black: I couldn’t decided on which one to include, so I picked both…. I love both of these tops equally and think they’re beautiful options for any “fun” occasion you have…. even if this month it means a social distancing happy hour with your neighborhood.
