Wellness Wednesday || 10 Go-To Activewear Pieces For Winter

Well, I’d be lying if I said the transition back into our routine has been easy this week. Being back in a routine has been wonderful, waking up at 5:45am again not so much. Over the past two weeks I slept in until 7am, so when my alarm went off Monday morning I just laid in bed… for 15 minutes without having reset my alarm (I once heard Ryan Seacrest call that “unprotected sleep…” laying there without hitting snooze, or resetting your alarm, is a dangerous thing to do… something that will likely result in oversleeping…) willing my eyes to open. Needless to say, I made it out of bed and out the door for my run. And while the temps have been relatively warmer in the mornings as of late, they’re about to drop which means morning workouts will be significantly cooler. So today I rounded up my favorite cool weather workout items…..
__________

1. Swiftly Speed Long Sleeve Top: I purchased this workout top right after Christmas and love the fitted feel. It’s not bulky, can easily layer under a running vest or jacket, and love the thumb holes so I can keep the majority of my hands warm. I wore it on my Monday morning run and it was great. I purchased it in the stripe color.

2. High Waist Pocket 7/8th Leggings: I’ve worn these in just about every climate (rainy temps, windy mornings, and chilly runs….) and they’ve kept me really warm. Grant it, the coldest it’s likely been so far is 40 degrees, but that’s cold for me. I love that they stay put when I run, have an interior and side pocket, and that the length is perfect for my short legs.

3. Sweaty Betty Stamina Bra: I bought this sports bra several years ago and it’s still one of my all time favorites…. that I wore throughout my nursing journey as well. It’s holds our lady friends in place, but doesn’t feel restricting.

4. Alo Yoga Lark Long Sleeve Top: I’ve had this top for two years now (ran my last half marathon in it) and love the fitted feel… and how easily it can layer for those chilly outdoor workouts. The perforated cutouts also had beautiful style….

5. Nike Tech Fleece Pullover: This rapidly became one of my go-to morning workout pieces after I got it in December. Love the cropped fit and it can easily layer over one of the tighter workout shirts I’ve shared here. It has a hood, is lightweight, but still keeps you nice and warm.

6. Stance Runnings Socks: I’ve been wearing these for three years now and can’t recommend them enough. They’re padded, but not bulky… so they are a super comfortable fit in your workout shoes. They keep my feet nice and warm during the cooler months.

7. Nike Ribbed Beanie: Super soft + warm… a great head piece to keep you warm when you’re working out outside this season. I really like the fit as well… not too slouchy, but doesn’t stand straight up…

8. Power Y Workout Tank: An excellent workout top to layer underneath your warmer pieces. It’s fitted, not constricting, and I’ve been wearing this style for years.

9. Running Gloves: My hands always get cold in the mornings and these gloves have been so amazing… soft + keep my hands nice and toasty.

10. Running Vest: I don’t own this item personally, but I’m thinking about investing in it for this winter season. I love running with a vest… I have one that is too bulky for a run long distance run (run walk is ok) and the other is too lightweight… and I think this one would be a great option. I read somewhere that you should dress for an outdoor workout as if it is 20 degrees warmer than the temperature… and I feel as if a vest allows me to do that, without overheating in a full on jacket.
