Weekend Recap || Trust The Timing….

(Bid adieu to summer with a sushi night at the beach….)

It’s hard to believe that summer is officially over (we’re past the “unofficial” end…. and it’s really fall now….) and this is the last week in September…. which will essentially move us into Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, + New Years (whaaaat??). Saturday morning we headed over to the new house to meet with another contractor + a wood flooring specialist who could repair our floors. As we talked with them, and they gave us their welcome (and unwelcome… I’ve come to realize that those in the home construction field are full of those…) opinion, I had a hard time believing that we hadn’t even started the demolition process on our home. I became increasingly frustrated, and on the walk back home couldn’t help but vent to TJ about the unexpected setbacks….

As I was standing in line at Sprouts yesterday, the cover of a wellness magazine read “Trust The Timing of Your Life….” I stopped for a moment and felt like it was speaking directly to me. I’ve always placed loose timelines on my life, which in some ways has always been helpful (get through graduate school in two years, get my license within 3 years of graduating, etc….) and in other ways caused frustrations due to circumstances beyond my control. So while I was standing there in the check-out line, I realized I had done it again, not trusted God, or the process, of this home remodel and worked myself into a funk. When I got home, TJ and I sat down, talked about how we needed to modify our expectations/requirements for moving into the new home (we initially wanted everything done due to the fact that the previous owner was a heavy smoker and we wanted all the damage from that removed, but decided that once the kitchen, along with the flooring, painting, and electrical were complete that would do a sufficient job of removing smoke damage from the walls + floors), take our time, do it right, and trust that there was a reason for the delays.

So, as we head into the week ahead, I do so with trust… and a renewed need to enjoy the process. Have a wonderful week friends! xx

__________

Hoping to get back to SoulCycle this week for a morning spin class… and thinking that these shrimp enchiladas (you can use any protein) sound good for an evening dinner this week. You can make them ahead of time and then toss them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat.

Loving a beautiful stripe sweater for fall… a few favorites include this colorblock sweatshirtoversized option, more fitted fall hued sweater, chunky stripe sweater, and this blush based stripe sweater.

A few versatile pieces, that can be worn to work and outside of work, include this beautiful twist front blouse, striped blouse, and this silk v-neck top…. all would pair perfectly with these silk pants (which would also look super cute with sneakers off duty)… and if your work allows jeans, I think this tie waist pair is great.

Just received this bralette + underwear combo in the mail Friday and they’re super comfortable.

I think these grey joggers + these lounge pants looks amazingly comfortable…..

Two band tees that I’m currently loving include this Guns N’ Roses tee + this Grateful Dead tee….

A few beautiful dresses for fall include this side slit ivory dress, rust colored slip dress, and this blush colored midi sweatshirt dress. I also think this floral long sleeved romper is a great alternative to a dress.
