We’ve been experiencing fall-ish temperatures the past several mornings… yet, I’ve been around the block a time of two to know that it’s just fall weather tricking all of us over in Southern California. Annnd, the weather report confirmed it tonight. It’ll be in the 90’s all weekend. That being said, I still love finding practical ways to incorporate fall trends into my summer wardrobe… because, let’s face it, I’ll be wearing cardigans and shorts until October….

There are a few easy ways to do so, and one of them is tossing on a lightweight cardigan or sweater… which I tend to amass in great quantity at the beginning of fall. So today I decided to share with you my favorite fall cardigans and sweaters….. in case you too are looking to begin curating your fall wardrobe.

All of the items I’ve chosen can easily be mixed in with your summer pieces to great comfortable + stylish transitional looks. They can be dressed up, or down, and are versatile so you can maximize your wear…..

1. Waffle Knit Cardigan:  I love the fully open option this cardigan provides, along with the waffle knit textured. It can easily be tossed on over shorts, jeans, a casual dress, or fall jumpsuit. It’s super soft and I love the slightly billowed nature of the arms.

2. Striped Duster Cardigan: Such a great lightweight option with beautiful fall colors. I wore it yesterday, with shorts obviously, but can see it looking great over leather leggings + a white tank…. or a perfectly fitting bodycon dress (in olive green).

3. Hooded Wrap Cardigan: I wore this one this past weekend and it was super comfortable…. it’s a gorgeous neutral oatmeal color, has a cozy hood on it, and can be worn wrapped with a tie or open and loose.

4. Post Workout Cardigan: I’ve been obsessed with this post workout cardigan since I saw it… I think it’s a great top layer after a sweaty sweat session and it can easily take you throughout the day looking chic… I’d toss it on over any workout look, but love it over an all black option… these high waisted leggings + tank.

5. Ribbed Knit Open Front Cardigan: I’ve been wearing this one since the middle of August (see here + here). It’s super soft and comes in multiple color options. Wear it off duty or with jeans.

6. Blush Eyelash Cardigan: One of my all time favorite brands always makes the best, on trend, pieces… and their fall collection doesn’t disappoint… with this cardigan being on of my all time favs.  The color is absolutely beautiful, the length will keep you warm, and anything soft always has my name all over it.

7. Oversized V-Neck Sweater: Free People fall never fails, and this season isn’t any different. I snagged this gorgeous, slightly oversized, v-neck sweater for our upcoming trip (I got the terracotta color) and love it. It’s super cute with joggers, jeans, shorts, or tossed on over a beautiful slip dress, or bodycon dress. Such a great pieces to own in your closet!

8. Casual Pullover: While this is technically a sweatshirt, I still treat it like a comfy sweater. It’s such and easy piece to toss on and immediately look pulled together. I bought it during the Anniversary sale, and have worn it so many times since. Highly, highly recommend.

9. Leopard Print Sweater(shirt): I ordered this during the LDW sales, so I can’t attest to how it fits yet, but I love the leopard print. It looks as though it can easily be made work appropriate as well as off duty ready.

10. Wrap Sweater: I bought this one several weeks ago and think it’s perfect for work + play. Pair it with dress pants in a more “business” attire office… and with jeans for a casual date night. It fits TTS and love the ribbed detailing. I bought the white.
