If there’s one thing I have zero business doing, it’s shopping for a heavy winter coat in the middle of July. I mean, let’s face it, if you live in Southern California it’ll be summer until the beginning of November, and we’ll all be complaining that “it’s never stayed this hot, this long….” although, it does every year #EndlessSummer. So, I’ve stopped even looking during the Nordstrom sale…. I mean, even heavy heavy sweaters are on the questionable side…. and instead opt for buy now, wear now and later pieces…..

That being said, what I do have business doing right now is looking for a great lightweight jacket. Since I’m always cold, and bring along a lightweight layer wherever I go (i.e. malls, restaurants, church, outdoor evening gatherings, etc….), I never have a problem looking in that department. So, when this utility jacket happened to cross my path, I decided to give it a try. Truly lightweight and with the perfect touch of “utility,” it easily falls under my “buy now, wear now… and later” criteria. I can easily wear it during the day with cut-offs and a tee or with a rib knit midi dress + slides…. and for the evening simply toss it on over a cami + some cut-offs or jeans…. in the fall, layer it over a long sleeve top + pair it with your favorite distressed jeans + kicks…..

So while you won’t catch me in the classic “outerwear” category, you will catch me in these perfectly lightweight layers…..
