Weekend Recap || Timing

(The prettiest hydrangeas from my mom’s garden…)

On most weekends, we pick a day and usually go on a long family walk together (TJ, Harper + I….). For the past six months the majority of our conversations have centered around selling our condo, buying a new home, and what that process would look like. Sometimes those conversations left us feeling discouraged, other times excited….

So, as we prepped our house this past week for our first open house, we were a little nervous…. requesting updates from our relator throughout the day. In the end, it was very successful, with our realtor believing several offers will come in this week….

As we headed out for our long walk Sunday, we talked about how much of our conversations on these walks, for the past several months, had been consumed with selling + moving…. and how it was hard to believe that we were finally where we wanted to be in the process….

I say all that because it’s a simple reminder that time changes things… if life is rough, bleak, or seems a little dark right now, time can change that…. a few months from now the situation could be completely different. Sometimes we want life to happen in our timeframe, in our plans… but I’ve always firmly believed that there is a plan much higher than ours, that if we listen and allow it to unfold it can be so much better than we initially even planned for ourselves. I’ve seen this happen so many times in my personal life, and it’s a hope I cling to always. So, as we go into the week ahead, I do so eagerly hoping for an offer on our condo, but also knowing that, ultimately, God’s timing is the perfect timing…..

(Kicked off the week with a lunch at Malibu Farm… always a must when we’re driving home from up north… the views + food are amazing…. my jumpsuit, Harper’s jumpsuit)

(A summer perfect black maxi dress for Friday evening happy hour….)

(Really, nothing better…. and always with a runny egg….)

(Spent Saturday morning prepping for our open house, grabbing breakfast, and squeezing in a quick HIIT…. shorts, top, shoes)

(Date night cocktails to celebrate a successful open house….)

(Love when the evenings are warm enough for shorts…. top, shorts)

(Sunday funday by the pool… my suit, hat, Harper’s suit)

(Closing out the weekend in the best basics…. tank, shorts)
_____________

So excited for 4th of July this Wednesday… my favorite “healthy” + festive snacks/dishes include watermelon slices, mayo free potato salad (my mom makes a good one), grilled corn on the cob, and how good do these coconut water + fresh berry popsicles look??

We’re heading to Palm Springs next weekend with another couple (and Harper) and I’m super excited! I’ll be packing this white tiered top (to wear with my high waisted shorts… also wore the top with this skirt for date night), black cut-out maxi dress (seen here, now on sale!), cute little skirt + crop combo (loving the polka dots), white swim bottoms + top (I wear these all the time…), fringe hat (as well as my favorite roll up visor), and this eyelet top (which I wore over Memorial Day weekend…).

Tiare Hawaii makes some of my favorite summer pieces… I own this blue and white maxi dress and love this stunning wrap skirt as well.

This Free People thermal is such a great lightweight summer layer!

Some super cute swim suits that are currently on sale including this ruffle bandeau top + bottoms set (fits really cute on!), and I own this suit in the gingham style but the top is on sale and it’s so comfortable… considering adding the bottoms (on sale).

Madewell keeps releasing the cutest items for summer… I love this open knit tank, drawstring stripe top, beautiful mauve slipdress, cute little off the shoulder top, pastel striped ruffle tank, and this stripe button up top….
