As we head into the weekend, I’m in a bit of disbelief that this is the last full weekend until Christmas…. somehow this season simply got away from me. I still have gifts to purchase, presents to wrap, and the small detail of taking Harper to see Santa (which we’ve scheduled for Saturday….). Our Christmas plans are typically on the mellow side. After an early church service on Christmas Eve, I host a festive dinner…. and then we visit the family Christmas day…. and since we’re a pretty laid back and casual family, the outfits follow suit.
So, amidst the last minute preparations for the Christmas weekend, I’ve been thinking about what I want to wear. Since I feel as if I’ve been inundated with reds and greens this season, I’m opting for an alternative Christmas outfit this year…. one of crisp winter whites. It all started when I stumbled upon this cozy knit the other day. It was one of those double take moments. I saw it, walked past it, and then when it registered how cute it was, I walked back. End of story. Once I got it home, I realized that it would be perfect for a day of indulging (cinnamon rolls, pie, prime rib….. festive libations) by simply tossing it over my favorite white jeans and throwing on a cozy pinot colored scarf (or, if you’re wanting the traditional red, I love this red plaid scarf too). The sweater is roomy enough in case that top button needs to be undone…. or, you know, if you just love the oversized feel (hand in the air if you’re a little bit of both). Either way, I promise you’ll look great, feel fab, and be super comfortable (just try not to spill your pinot on those winter whites….).
If you’re looking for a few other options, Nordstrom has a bunch of gorgeous winter white sweaters like this cold shoulder option, my favorite ribbed v-neck sweater, and this cable pom pom sweater (which also comes in red… just in case I haven’t sold you on winter white….). Oh, and another added benefit of white for Christmas? You can wear it long after the holiday festivities are over! Sold?
