Weekend Recap: A Few Holiday + Everyday Favorite Items

fashion island christmas tree,itsy bitsy indulgences {Christmas in CA… palms + pines}

With last week being full of colds and stomach bugs (little miss was unfortunate enough to contact both) this weekend was much anticipated. Yet, when Friday actually came, I had come down with Harper’s cold, and the grand plans we had for the weekend had to be tempered slightly. Which, in all honesty, probably wasn’t a bad thing…. we’d been going, going, going, so it was probably my body’s way of telling me to slow the heck down. So, we spent most of the weekend relaxing when we could… with the exception of a Saturday outing + church/brunch on Sunday. Yet, as this cold begins to fade, I’m looking forward to tackling my holiday bucket list this week a visit to a Christmas Train + then a one night getaway with TJ on Saturday! Kinda hoping this week flies by!! I hope you all have a great one!!

I started the week with this HIIT workout and absolutely loved it… planning on doing it again this week.

While the holidays are in full swing, I’ll be sharing a few gift guides over the next few weeks (the first guide for the woman in your life can be seen here). With that being said, it’s also a time for festive parties. A few items that I think would be perfect for any festive get together include this one shoulder velvet top (in my cart!), this velvet bolero (perfect as a top layer over a beautiful cami), red ruffle one shoulder top, black lace peplum tank, and this gorgeous lace romper. I love textures, so I think all those options are perfect for a holiday soiree. I am also loving one-pieces and this velvet jumpsuit is on the top of my list! A few other festive favorites for the season include this red cable knit pullover, plaid button-up, and this plaid pair of pajamas!

TJ and I ended up booking a last minute, one night stay, up in Los Olivos for this coming Saturday…. alone (what?!!)! That being said, the temperatures fluctuate so much through the day that layering is essential to stay comfortable. I am currently eyeing this fluffy vest (heart eyes all over it!) to layer over this simple pullover (debating between the mauve + mocha colors….). I also love all things ruffle right now, so I am considering this adorable ruffle sleeve sweatshirt, knit ruffle shoulder pullover, and this basic ruffle hem tee (which I purchased in white… and also purchased as a gift….). I also love this lace up hooded sweatshirt, as well as this distressed sweatshirt.

I picked up a few items this weekend and thought I would share with you…. I snagged this cardigan (#obsessed) for everyday living, this distressed v-neck sweater in beige (comes in several color options), distressed cotton pullover in black, chunky cardigan in tan, and this v-neck pullover in slate.
