A few weeks ago Shannon and I decided to get together for a casual night out. Not completely sure what our plans were, and only knowing that we wanted to keep it simple and casual, I needed to find an outfit that could be diverse, casual, yet still cute.

I landed on this top because its sequins and flowy design make it a little dressier than a plain tank, and the color is soft and neutral enough to be casual. This top is so much more versatile than I even imagined when I first bought it. At first I loved how girly and pretty it was, and assumed it would be perfect for a nice night out. However, when I really started playing around with it, I realized that it can so easily be dressed down and made appropriate for so much more!

The striped pants add an extra dose of pizazz, and I loved the mixture of textures between sequins and striped denim. Mixing textures and patterns is one of my favorite trends! Anyhow, the stripes on the pants are a very neutral color, and since they are denim and very casual, they bring down the formality of the top, to create the perfect balance. Throw on a gold necklace, a little sparkle in the bracelets, and a casual sandal, and there’s a formula for the perfect casual girl’s night out outfit-my favorite ocassion to dress for!
