His & Her’s Healthy Pizza

I LOVE pizza! Yet, I don’t like all the fat and grease that can accompany it. So instead of ordering out when I have a craving, I opt for the homemade version, where I know exactly what is going into, and onto, that dough! It has really become quite a fun dinner to make for the hubby and I. A simple evening meal often turns into a creative process where we compete (it’s a friendly competition, I promise!) to see who makes the best tasting pizza… in the healthiest way! One of my favorites to make is the classic Margherita Pizza (click here to see the recipe), which I posted about a while ago. As of lately though, I’ve been breaking out of the shell and have discovered healthier versions of the classic BBQ Chicken pizza, Canadian Bacon and Pineapple, and my most recent delight a Spinach, Tomato, and Feta pizza (look at all those super foods… on a PIZZA!!)! Below you will find the Spinach, Tomato, and Feta Pizza along with the hubby’s “Delux” Pizza (that was the name he gave it)! There are two fabulous things about these recipes. The first, ALL the ingredients are from Trader Joe’s and secondly, each slice is under 190 calories (woohoo!)!

Last night the weather was so nice, that we decided to dine al fresco on our patio (we’ve been working to make it a cozy little spot). We paired the pizzas with his and her beverages as well. A little Great White Brew for the hubby and a glass of La Crema Pinot Gris for me (which I highly recommend… it’s light, crisp, and perfect for summer dinning).
