Mom, mother, confidant, helper, rock, best friend; these are a few words that can often be used interchangeably to describe the special relationship between mothers and their daughters. As I think back to my relationship with my own mother, I can only imagine how she was able to delicately balance the intricacies that the role requires. I wonder how many sleepless nights, panic attacks, and grey hairs I have give her over the years… And through it all, at the end of the day, I know that I can always count on her to be the holder of my secrets, the shoulder to cry on, and my number one cheerleader. For some individuals this relationship isn’t with their mothers, for various reasons, but instead with another woman who has deeply touched their lives: an Aunt, grandmother, God-mother, or a family friend. Whoever that individual is for you, it’s almost that time to spend the day celebrating all they have done for you over the years. A day to celebrate hard working women?
