Weekend Recap || Temporary

I wish I could pop in here and say we did something “different” this past weekend… but it was more of the same, and to be honest, I’ve grown quite accustomed to the routine. Don’t get me wrong, I would’t mind doing something different (and will welcome it all soon enough) but for some reason I know that these days, where we wake up and don’t rush off to do something, are limited. It’s actually something I’ve been thinking about. A lot lately….

It’s probably because I can sense that come summer we will be in a position to come and go as we please, but for right now, I’m enjoying soaking up the slower time we have together. The mornings where the girls cuddle up next to TJ when he orders weekend donuts… where we spend over an hour in the kitchen making a delicious weekend brunch…. where we go for a family walk… heat up the pool and freeze our buns off when we get out with our pruny feet… when we BBQ at night with a little wine, and put down two little girls who can’t even keep their eyes open (and parents who are right there with them…). Where s’mores by the pool elicit so much excitement from little miss that she can’t even contain herself. Yes, I know it’s mundane and we’ve done it for more than 52 weeks… but it’s so temporary….

I know the day will come, sooner than I’m likely ready for, when our little girls won’t be so little… where they won’t want to spend the weekends in the pool with us, where they would rather be with friends… where we have to rush off to sports or birthday parties…. when ordering donuts doesn’t light up their eyes…. when they aren’t so little anymore… and their tiny giggles and loud screeches as they chase each other down the hall won’t fill up our four walls…. when the peace and quite will almost seem odd.

Don’t get me wrong, there are moments in between the ones mentioned above that I have to take deep breaths, excuse myself from frustration, and crave the odd peace and quiet I just mentioned. But I know that there will come a point when I want to go back in time, not to change anything, but to just relive some of these moments for a little while longer….

So while I do wish I could share some new and exciting things we did this weekend… I also cherish these seemingly repetitive and routine 48 hours.

I hope you all had a good weekend and have a great week ahead….

________

I purchased this black tank for my spring/summer workouts… love the texture and cropped fit.

Bloomingdale’s is having 25% off with their Friends + Family sale… a few personal favorites include these strappy block heel sandals, white eyelet dress, blush shacket, and this rainbow cardigan (featured above).
All of my favorite AGOLDE denim is 25% off as well- including these longer inseam shorts, Parker vintage shorts, and go-to high waisted pair.
The coravin wine preservation system is also included!
This straw beach bag I’ve had since last season is part of the sale as well…
I also have my eye on this maxi button down cover-up (in black).

I bought these cute flutter sleeve swimsuits for the girls….

Love this black and white jute bag as a beach bag this summer….

Looking at these biker shorts + tank combo in the juniper color… so pretty for spring and summer….

For date nights (can’t wait for those again) I think this basic silky cami would be beautiful….
