Weekend Recap || Doing Nothing, Slowly

We didn’t do much at all this weekend… and not that that’s anything new… but for some reason it felt particularly good this time around. I so often get caught up in “doing” that I forget that “rest” has a very necessary purpose. So instead of being three steps ahead of myself this weekend, I allowed myself, and in turn the entire family, to slow down….

And while there certainly wasn’t any sleeping in (is that possible with two littles under five??) we did enjoy slow breakfasts (our favorite breakfast burritos + avocado toast), morning puzzles, hours spent outdoors (we had a heatwave this weekend), and some really good family time.

I hope you all had a good weekend as well!
________

(Friday comfort…. shorts, half-zip)

(Added this faux olive tree to our home… not sure if I’m keeping it here by the fireplace or moving it to the entryway….)

(Did a quick Peloton bootcamp and then spent Saturday watching the Rams vs. Packers… not the outcome we were hoping for over here! workout crop, leggings)

(Homemade pizza + a little bubbly for Saturday night, at home, date night…)

(Sunday morning puzzles, pajamas, pancakes + bacon….)

(Someday I’ll wear jeans again…. not anytime soon though…. joggers, sweatshirt)

(Hours spent outside repeating this over and over again….)

(Finished this book (which I highly recommend) with a side of Pressed Juicery Freeze….)

___________

Our patio furniture was just restocked… we have this loveseat, chair, and lounger…. the cushions can be removed to wash in the washing machine which I appreciate!

Varley makes some of the best post-work pieces and this ribbed half zip is currently on sale. I own it in black and it’s super comfortable + chic.

A few cute + comfy new arrivals from Free People include this sweater jumpsuit (inseam length looks petite friendly), this long-sleeve button down romper, ruffle sports bra, these cute tie dye socks (I’ve been loving socks lately…), and this amazing maxi sweater.

I found my go-to Lou + Grey half zip available in the black… so soft and comfortable and goes with so many different bottoms.

Someone recently asked me for warm weather recommendations since she lives in a warmer climate… some of my favorite warm weather basics are this straw Clare V. bag (I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s still in great condition), tubular slides (I have them in the blush, but the black is super chic), this basic tank, and these distressed denim shorts.

A few quick sales I wanted to share….

The Madewell Half-Zip from January’s Capsule wardrobe was recently marked down 25%…. I went up a size for a looser fit.

These soft + cozy ribbed cashmere socks are 30% off (they keep my feet nice and warm)….

And my go-to oversized black denim jacket is 60% off making it under $50.
