Our Summer 2022 Bucket List

Whenever the seasons change, my mind always turns to all the activities that would fit accordingly. And with the summer season officially upon us, summer 2022 is no exception…

I feel as if the past two summers were spent close to home, playing it safe… and so this season, we’re ready to go (despite most of my activities being at home, haha)… we’re hoping to squeeze in a little family getaway up the coast, take advantage of the warm evenings with movie nights, and get our toes sandy and our hair wet with salty water. Our summer 2020 2022 (literally wrote 2020… I must still feel stuck in 2020…) bucket list isn’t elaborate, but it’ll make for a fun couple months of the summer season!

I’d love to know any summer ideas you have for you and your family!
______

1. Beach Days– Hoping to get in one a week… they’re always my favorite days with the girls….
2. Outdoor movie night by the pool– we’ve done these under our patio, but I really want to do one outside by the pool… I found this outdoor movie screen which I think would make it very possible…
3. Family Duffy Boat Ride– love these little electric boats that are great for a happy hour at sunset in the harbor…
4. Beach Bonfire like we did back in the fall…
5. Smoked Ribs + S’mores by the fire-pit (I feel like this is quintessentially summer)
6. Hike our favorite spot in Laguna Canyon
7. Make fresh popsicles with the girls…
8. Take a road trip up the coast of CA for a few days… there are so many beautiful places to stop that are fun for both adults and kiddos- from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo.
9. Fireworks
10. Camp out in the backyard– for us, this will consist of a tent, roasting marshmallows, and having story time inside of it, since I think our littlest is still a bit too young to do an entire night, haha… We did this two years ago and it was so fun
11. A sunset picnic at the beach with the girls– this is our favorite table to take with us…
12. Neighborhood scavenger hunt + happy hour– this is a win win for parents and kiddos- you can get some really cute scavenger hunt forms on etsy (printable immediately) and then go for a family walk around the neighborhood when the temps cool… or just have a beverage to cool yourself down…
13. Parent’s Only Trip– we have it booked (it’s been booked for 2 years, and canceled 2 times) so here’s to hoping it happens this year….
14. Take the train down to San Juan Capistrano for the morning, grab breakfast, and head to the petting zoo…
15. Outdoor Family Game Night– water balloon toss, giant jenga, slip n’ slide games, corn hole
