Mom’s rose garden was always a symbol of things to come. Lush and full in the summer, fresh and new in the spring, and barren in the winter (well, barren might not be the right word… mom has a pretty advanced green thumb). When I stopped by earlier this week I was quickly reminded that spring, and all the new beginnings it brings, was right around the corner (as in Saturday…). The garden was full of vibrantly colored rose bushes… deep reds, fresh whites, and soft pinks. The soft pinks get me every spring. It’s as if I bid adieu to the darker colors of winter and welcome in the rush of soft and feminine colors. Which is why I couldn’t resist this rose-like feminine dress from Lulu*s, it reminded me of my mom’s rose garden and the welcoming of spring. AND, the twirling effect, coupled with the fresh roses, only made for a winning duo.
