We went to bed Friday evening with every intention of doing what we’ve done every other Saturday as of late… wake up, make a brunch type breakfast, workout, hang out, and then whip up some beverages and enjoy a home cooked dinner… and then relax on the couch. Pretty standard weekend over here as of late….
Yet when we woke up Saturday morning TJ + I sort of joked that we should just load everyone into the car and head up north to Santa Barbara for the day…. we nixed the idea thinking it would be too much for “just the day” and began making our breakfast (loaded avocado toast + bacon to be exact…). After the dishes were cleaned and we’d watched five renditions of Harper’s “show” (spoiler alert it’s her dancing to “Dance of The Sugar Plum Ferries” from the Nutcracker) all before 9am we decided to just go for the adventure up north. We quickly packed up our bags, loaded up the car, and set out for Santa Barbara… snacks, towels, and two excited little ladies in tow.
And while we could have done the same thing at a local beach that we did in Santa Barbara, the scenic drive (cards were in our favor and we didn’t hit an ounce of Los Angeles traffic… pretty much unheard of…), the change of scenery, our favorite sandwiches from a local spot (Harper didn’t share our love… as evidenced by the photo below….), and just driving through the quaint little town of Montecitio made us feel as if we were on a mini vacation (just a little shorter than we’d typically prefer…). A little spontaneity was good for the soul this weekend.
Hope you all have a good week ahead!
(Another day, another pair of joggers… top, shacket, joggers, trainers)
(Smiles all around….. beach chairs, Harper’s swimsuit)
(Kept it comfortable and casual for the day… joggers, top, slides, hat)
(A little bubbly to end the spontaneous day….)
______
Purchased this cropped workout tank last week… it’s great with high waisted leggings and sweats… a nice soft material that will also be great for workouts.
My favorite high waisted black skinny jeans are 30% off… such a great wardrobe basic
Madewell is still having their Insider event (as of Sunday evening)… I received this cashmere sweater tee and it’s super lightweight + soft… will be a beautiful item for Spring… and this half zip sweatshirt (that I wear all the time) is included in the sale.
Today is the last day for the Verishop 20% off sale…. the ribbed jobbers + pullover combo I wear all the time is included, as well as this linen cover-up button down, and ribbed henley sweater (a great spring transitional piece).
A lot of my go-to items from last year (and a few from this year) were recently restocked and I wanted to share them:
This blush graphic tee (super comfy with shorts, lounging, or jeans)
Leopard print biker shorts
This workout tank + high waisted leggings combo (slightly lighter color, but so soft)
Beach cover-up pants (I’ve had these for 2 years and they’re great)
Black wrap skirt (another favorite for 2 years… great cover-up to happy hour piece)
This short sleeve sweatshirt + shorts lounge set (I’ve worn both separately as well)
Love this little lace cami bodysuit for a date night paired with a leather jacket…
