Weekend Recap || Halloween + Beyond

(The prettiest Halloween sky…)

This weekend was one that was highly anticipated in our household. Namely from one eager little 4 year old who couldn’t contain her excitement at having the entire family dress up. And I’d have to say the evening didn’t disappoint. We dressed up, played games inside, the adults had a few libations, the girls trick-or-treated bedroom to bedroom, and the minute their heads hit the pillow they fell asleep (only to miss the daylight savings time memo…). I always see the passing of Halloween as the beginning of the holiday season….

And while I know the holidays will look so different this year, different reasons for everyone, my hope is that we can make it just as special as we did this Halloween of 2020. I love having children around because they really remind me of the simple joys of the holidays… the excitement in a bucket of candy, in seeing Nana’s face painted green, in baking a pumpkin pie together, and in decorating the Christmas tree and cookies….

Christmas books have been on heavy rotation over here lately (per Harper’s request) and her favorite is The Grinch (and possibly one of my favorites as well…)…. and within the pages of the book my favorite line has to be:

“He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. Maybe Christmas, he thought…doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps…means a little bit more!”

For me, these next couple of months are all about what we create within the four walls of our home… the memories we make, the traditions we create, and the feeling of warmth and “home” we give to the girls. The holiday season, over the years, has become much more a feeling than anything I could tangibly hold.

And with that, I hope you all have a great week ahead!

(Friday night caving pumpkins + sipping a little vino… jumpsuit, slippers, cardigan (20% off with code NATALIE20)

(Wizard Of Oz themed Halloween fun with the entire family)

(Sunday donuts… because there wasn’t enough sugar the night before…)

(A warm fall Sunday spent outside called for TJ’s oversized tee + ribbed biker shorts….)

__________

I saw this golden velvet top + jogger and thought they would be so beautiful for Thanksgiving at home…

I’ve been looking for holiday decor ahead of time this year and love this rattan tree collar, cone and pod garland for our front door, birch wood hurricane set (love the natural texture), pine and cone wreath, cypress garland for our fireplace mantle, and these small potted pine trees to flank our fireplace.

My go-to ivory ribbed joggers are currently on sale for under $50… and this black ribbed tee is on sale for $22… I own both and wear them regularly.

This waffle knit henley top + joggers set is such a beautiful color for fall…

I’m loving all things textured this season, specifically waffle + ribbed textures…. I think this scrunchi is so chic (great for day 4-6 of my dirty hair), waffle wool mittens, cashmere ribbed beanie, and this waffle cashmere henley. I also think the color of this long puffer coat is beautiful.

Love this taupe scarf… looks so comfortable and a great fall/winter accessory.

And this honey colored ribbed sweater dress is beautiful… and would be cute with booties, mules, or sneakers.
