Home Update || An Updated Corner To Hide All The Things

With all the time we’ve been spending at home, I’ve found myself staring at little nooks and corners in our house, scratching my head, and trying to figure out what to do with them. There’s the walls on the side of the fireplace that I’ve decided needs built in bookshelves (they’re not symmetrical right now and it’s sort of making me anxious… I love symmetry), there’s the office/guest-room (let’s not get me started on that please….), and then there was the little corner in our dining space which housed some of the girl’s toys just stuffed into mismatched baskets that just looked cluttered….

I decided I wanted to tackle the corner first, since it was just such an eye sore. I knew exactly what I was looking for… a small cabinet or buffet that would fit on the small-ish wall, and some beautiful home accessories to decorate the top with. I scoured the internet for the right items and pieces were either took big (depth wise), too expensive, or less expensive and below average quality (I mean, I didn’t need the cabinet door falling off after one pull from the girls)…. then I was introduced to Joss + Main’s Winter Edit and I found everything I was looking for. Their seasonal edits drop four times a year and are curated to feature the trends, materials, and products that will be “it” for the season. This winter season edit is filled with luxe velvets, elevated seasonal garland, updated plaids, and so much more.

I ended up finding this beautiful 2 door accent cabinet that was on point with regards to size, quality, and the style of our home. The natural woven rattan panels were exactly what I was looking for in the space. With one shelf inside, it provided me with more than enough room to store all those toys (that I wanted out of view…). I snagged these beautiful black rattan baskets to house the toys, and this gorgeous porcelain black vase is a beautiful accent (and comes in several colors), especially when filled with seasonal greens. I also wanted to add some height to the space, so it wouldn’t look like a bare wall, so propping up this gold beveled mirror was a great addition (I also contemplated doing these pampas grass paintings). A few more items I love from the collection include this wood bench (great for an entryway), gorgeous raw wood and metal console table, these velvet accent pillows, and this angular framed armchair.

Now, whenever we sit down to eat I don’t have to turn my back to that cluttered little area… I can actually choose a spot that looks right at it and enjoys the tiny little space!

Thank you to Joss + Main for sponsoring this post + allowing me to organize that corner!
