When I became a mom, I swore that I wouldn’t let my style veer too far off from what I loved. And since I’ve always appreciated practical pieces, it wasn’t too hard of a transition. Yet I always pause before I toss on an all white ensemble…. am I being brave, or just plain delusional thinking I can wear this neutral palette? And is it too boring?? In the end, I ultimately always end up going for it because it always looks effortless + crisp… I just follow three basic steps to pull it all together…
1. Have A Good Stain Remover: And I should immediately add, in your bag. Just the other day this one removed a melted in chocolate stain from my favorite cream chunky knit pullover (that’s what happens when you eat chocolate chips while wearing a newborn in a baby carrier + one falls…). Having it on hand ensures any little stain is quickly addressed + makes for a worry free. yet chic, outfit….
2. Textures: When I’m wearing all white, I like to mix in neutral textures like raffia sandals, macrame totes, + straw hats… not only are those pieces quintessentially summer, but they make an all white look come alive.
3. Beautiful Jewels: And of course tossing on some jewelry pulls the entire outfit together. Victoria Emerson has some great dainty pieces, as well as statement making items, all to help complete the look. I love this spinning pendant necklace… super versatile (wore it with a bathing suit to the pool last weekend… and my sister immediately purchased one too) + the adjustable length makes it work with any neckline. Their double wraps are perfect if you want a more subtle look + the boho cuffs are great for statement making! And for days when I’m on the go and just need to know if I’m on schedule or not, this rose gold watch is tossed on….
And that’s it… three simple ways to pull off white with little ones… or no little ones… in tow!
