Last Friday, when it was 58 degrees, I decided I was over wearing sneakers and opted for my favorite slides. Which later promoted me to take a poll over on instagram… whether or not to start sharing more “spring” looks… or to keep styling my “winter” pieces. An overwhelming majority, 92% to be exact, said to start incorporating spring fashion…. and in all honesty, I really can’t wait for the temps to heat up, just a tad. Dressing a bump in the middle of winter is starting to get a little more challenging (and at this point I have to say “thank you” for sticking with me….)…
All that to say, I side with the 92% of people and will be trying to incorporate spring into my posts from now on… starting with today. One of my favorite items to purchase for spring are cute sweaters. Seems slightly counterintuitive, I know, but in spring I like to lighten up the fabrics, often opting for open knit styles, and brighter colors (more in the light greys, whites, + blushes….). I typically start with sweaters because they’re super versatile… easy to wear with jeans… and also look amazing with cut-offs (probably my favorite combo of all times is an oversized knit front tucked into my tried and true shorts). When I saw this grey, faux wrap, open knit sweater I knew it would be a great spring staple… and would work well post-baby too. Paired with these light wash jeans (an absolute favorite from last season) they create a “lightened” up spring look.
A few other spring knits that I’m currently loving (… they just beckon for a glass of rosé by the beach… or something like that) include this v-neck mauve knit, one shoulder pullover sweater (looks like you would want to size up one or two to make this look a little slouchy + “lived in…”), white open stitch v-neck sweater, cocoon cardigan in oatmeal, + this open knit pullover (seen here). Here’s to hoping spring temps arrive soon!
