Well, we’ve officially removed all our contingencies on the house (finally) and in two weeks we’ll have keys in hand! We had the contractor back out today and he took measurements, drew up some plans, and we’re hoping to have a final estimate very soon…. and start demo the day after we get our keys (can you tell we’re a little excited??)…..
As I began thinking about the timeline over the next two weeks, I quickly realized that would put us well into September. SEPTEMBER…. what? Not sure how we’ve gotten to the last part of the year, but here we are. And while Southern California will likely be experiencing another endless summer (last year I could have worn a bathing suit on Thanksgiving #95degrees….) it doesn’t stop me from thinking about fall clothing. I’ll have a full “Fall Must Haves” post up next week, but today I’m sharing my favorite denim jackets that I personally own and love….
A good denim jacket is so good for those transitional weather months… where it’s cool in the morning, but still a little warmer in the afternoons. When I was in elementary school I used to wear tights under shorts as my “transitional” piece….. and now I think a denim jacket is a much better option… layer it over a dress, with joggers, with jeans, leggings…. options are really endless if you ask me…..
1. Embellished Denim Jacket: If you’re looking for something a little different this fall, this little pearl embellished jacket is for you…. it’s slightly oversized, light enough to have a comfortable layer underneath, and the pearl embellishments make it perfect to add something extra to any neutral outfit.
2. Distressed Denim Jacket: I bought this jacket last season and it’s still a favorite… the distressing is just enough to make it look slightly rugged, but it doesn’t look like it’s falling apart. I wear it all the time with leggings + joggers… but there are tons of combos that would work.
3. Light-wash Denim Jacket: I went on the hunt for a light-wash denim jacket at the beginning of summer and this was what I found. I’ve been so so happy with it over the past several months. It’s an oversized fit, and the wash makes it a more casual option. It’s also an easy jacket to pair with a darker wash jean, if you’re looking to try the denim on denim trend.
4. Fitted Denim Jacket: If you’re looking for a more streamlined choice, in a darker wash, this is a great option. I’ve owned it for several years, and it looks great over dresses or slightly dressed up.
5. Kimono Style Denim Jacket: The perfect denim jacket for any occasion… nice enough for a business casual work environment (no embellishments or distressing)… yet casual enough to pair with leggings and cute kicks! It’ll be on heavy rotation come this fall…..
