I’ve always been a list maker, especially when it comes to traveling. For our European adventures, I’d start making a list about two weeks ahead of time…. outfit planning and adding to it as I remembered items (this can be a good thing or a bad thing… resulted in a lot of overpacking, but never forgetting….). Not much has changed since we started traveling as a family. I still create lists (have to #Mombrain) and begin thinking about what to pack well in advance. Well, that’s actually my philosophy. TJ on the other hand is kinda last minute in this department. As in, the night before, or morning of…..
So, what that ultimately looks like is a smallish suitcase for TJ, typically underweight by about 10 pounds…. and a very large suitcase for myself… typically 10 pounds overweight…. and a crazy couple at the check-in line shifting items from one suitcase to the other, all while managing a fiesty toddler who just wants to run. Needless to say, on this most recent trip to Palm Springs, TJ decided he wanted to start planning what he was going to bring a couple of weeks in advance….
We headed out to the mall one Saturday after spin, and found ourselves in the Nordstrom men’s department (where else) where he found a ton of items from their vacation selection. He was looking for patterns + spring colors to take to Palm Springs, and an upcoming tropical trip we have. He wanted pieces that could take him from the active days at the pool with little miss to fireside happy hour… pieces that were comfortable, practical, and versatile enough to be worn at home too. Nordstrom had just received their spring items so he had a lot to pick from. 7 Diamonds + Ted Baker are two brands that he always has success with… the slim fit, and on trend designs are what he’s drawn to, and he picked out this pink + white button-up, navy blue + white collard shirt, and this teal polo (which comes in 5 color options). To pair with them he got these herringbone jacquard weave textured shorts, and these trunks for the pool. Annnnd, of course, his favorite PAIGE transcend jeans in this lighter wash. A few other items he’s loving for spring resort include these gray swim trunks, floral shirt, terrycloth shorts for lounging, long sleeve henley + lightweight pullover for cooler evenings, and this duffel bag to pack everything in for a long weekend… of course when we were leaving, we had to snag this cute little dress + suit for Harper.
All that to say, thank goodness we were driving, because TJ didn’t have room in his suitcase to handle my overflow….
