Back To School Booties

booties, itsy bitsy indulgences

Every summer, before returning to school, my mom and I would head to the mall for a little back to school shopping. On the list were tees, leggings (typically the stirrup kind… remember those?), shoes, and an “of the moment” backpack (usually some kind of cartoon character… probably a Disney princess of sorts…). We did this year after year. Yet, one of my favorite memories has to be the year of the white cowgirl boots. I pretty much had to have them. My mom told me they would hurt my feet. I told her they wouldn’t (because, really, what do moms know anyway??….). She said ok. The first day of kindergarten I tucked my hot pink stirrup leggings into the boots and off I went (don’t forget the pink bow in the hair too…. I really should share this photo at some point). Well, mom was right. About mid-day she got a call from me. The boots hurt, could she bring me another pair of shoes?

Needless to say, I’ve learned a thing or two over the years about picking out the right pair of booties (I guess I learned from my mistakes). They have to be stylish, well made, and comfortable. If they hurt, they go back. Period.  So, when I found these peep-toed cuties from Payless I couldn’t have been happier. Not only are they super comfortable, but they pretty much go with anything. They’re well made, on trend, and comfortable… which fits all my criteria… basically making them perfect (oh, and the price is pretty great too!).
