I’ve been in a slight predicament as of late. I was under the impression, based on the warmer temps from the previous months, that the summer heat was here to stay. So, I stopped buying anything warm, and instead started buying summer-y pieces (like this top). Well, that was a mistake. The weather decided to turn, and for the past few weeks, its been in the low 70’s… not really shorts and a tank weather for us wimpy Californians. My solution was to simply start layering…. again. I pulled out my favorite vest (which I snagged last summer, last seen here when I was pregnant) and decided it was the perfect top piece to my new favorite tank (which is perfect if you’re nursing… just an FYI). The more I wear it, the more I realize how versatile a vest really is. You can pair it with any dress or romper, over a tank and cut-offs, or with jeans and a tee. I’ve found a few options that I’m considering snagging… like this olive sleeveless trench, this grey terry cloth option (perfect for a weekend!), this chambray option (love it with an all white ensemble), a denim one for over pretty much anything, and a clean, crisp white version for dressier events. They might just be my new favorite summer layering piece.
