Looking through old family photos made me recollect fun times as a child (as they usually do…). I realized that growing up in Southern California meant that many of my childhood vacations and summer days were spent at the beach. In elementary school, every Wednesday during the summer was “beach day” in our house. We would pack up the car with snacks (um… remember those sour patch licorice sticks??… and air heads??… the white flavor was the best…) and head down to Corona Del Mar. We spent the entire day there, body boarding in the waves, heading up the hill to the Rite Aid to get some ice cream (it was a sugar high day if you can’t tell!), and burying each other in the sand. Needless to say, by the time we headed home, we were pretty exhausted.

With every new summer season that approached, my mom would take my sister and me out to pick up the summer activity essentials, which always included a few cute bathing suits, cover-ups, sandals, hats, sunglasses, and towels. It was a fun day trying on cute suits and anticipating the fun of summer. Now that I’m a mom, this is something I can’t wait to do with Harper and our little family. As I begin to pull together my summer attire, and Harper’s, I’m looking for chic pieces that I can run around in, as she will start to become more mobile as the summer months progress. I love this one piece for that very reason. (and to be quite honest, I’m not ready for that two piece quite yet… maybe in a few weeks… once a few more BBG sessions are under my belt). When paired with the perfect summer cover-up it’s a winning combination and all I need for a fun day at the beach.
