10 Ways I’ve Added Red + Pink Into My Otherwise Neutral Wardrobe

As I’ve mentioned here several times before, I began shifting my colorful wardrobe, to something more streamlined, neutral, and capsuled 4-5 years ago when I realized that very little actually went together. I might have had a full closet, but getting multiple outfits out of several different pieces was complicated given the clash of colors. The rest is history, and I’ve loved the versatility that neutrals brings (and the ease with which getting dressed is).

All of that to say, I’m not 100% adverse to color, and lately I’ve found myself gravitating towards some reds and pinks. I still stand by the fact that they’re not as versatile, and I won’t get as many different outfits out of these pieces… but to weave them into my neutrals has been fun.

So if you’re similar to me, and looking to add a few pops of red and pink here and there, then today’s all for you. I’ve rounded up 10 easy ways I’ve done just that over the past month or so….

Also worth noting….

I like the notion of a red cap… purchased this one and can’t wait to wear it on those dirty hair days and to the soccer field this winter/spring.

Or, a beautiful bow in the hair is another effortless way to incorporate red or pink…

And while we’re on the topic of red and pink a few other items that I think would fall into the below categories include this red off the shoulder top (fun for a statement top), blush flip flops (I own these in black and wore them so much last summer), blush mini bag, and this blush sweater.

With that, I hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead!
_____

NAIL COLOR

The easiest, and one of the more subtle ways, is with my nail color. This is Sexy Red Round from Static Nails and it’s one of my favorite red shades…

(Similar Vest, Cream Denim, Sweater (another option))

OVER THE SHOULDER

Another simple way to add red, without having to commit too much to bold color, is simply tossing it over your shoulders with other neutral pieces…

(Sweater (identical option), Tee, Jeans, Bag, Sneakers)

COLORED SOCKS

And if you’re looking for a bit of fun color to peak out, then socks are another easy way to show your red and pink…
(Joggers, Half Zip, Socks, Coat)

PAJAMAS

Cozying up at home in red and pink feels a bit easier, since there’s no need to really mix and match and create various outfits with pajamas…

(Red Pajamas (also here, and under $40 option), Blush Pajamas)

SHOES

Shoes are a versatile option for red and pink, since you can be as bold, or as subtle, as you’d like. The red Adidas sneakers are everywhere, but if you’re like me and wanting something not as bright, then these are such a good option. I also think these pink samabas are pretty cute as well…

(Sneakers)

WITH CAMEL

Love red paired with camel as a way to sort of “neutralize” the brightness….

(Leggings, Half Zip (10% off with code HGCXSPANX))

FEMININE CARDIGAN

A bolder pop of pink works in a “rosewood” shade in a lightweight cardigan, dressed down with a simple tank and wide legged jeans.

(Cardigan, Jeans, Tank)

BOLD STRIPES

A striped sweatshirt, with red detailing, is another easy way to work in shades of red. This block sweater is another great option…

(Sweatshirt, Jeans, Sneakers)

SUBTLE HOME TOUCHES

And if you’re still not feeling red or pink with clothing but want to give the colors a try, how about a simply bow around a beverage glass on the weekend? A fun, and simple, way to make it feel a bit more special on those coveted two days off!

(Red Velvet Ribbon)
