{Our first night away… to say it was fun would be an understatement…}
Knowing that we had this fun getaway scheduled for this past weekend made getting through the long week much easier. After a rough start to the morning on Saturday (a rock fell off a cliff in a rock slide area and hit our passenger side window…. really?! What are the odds!…), we arrived in Santa Barbara for a delicious breakfast to regroup and put a plan together for the rest of the day… we decided that the window could easily be fixed, everyone was okay, and to take full advantage of our day/night together…
So, we naturally hit up our favorite spots… moving seamlessly from one place to the next… and even though we had the best of intentions to sleep in on Sunday morning, we naturally woke up at the usual time. It was fun to get away, to be only responsible for each other, and enjoy a few meals and drinks at our on leisure…. We laughed, had light conversation… some serious conversation…. sipped a little lot of wine, ate until I had to unbutton my top button…. and pretty much acted as if it was 2015 BC (before child….)…..
Yet, we naturally couldn’t wait to get back to see little miss at the end of the trip. Amidst conversation of life, we always found small ways that she would make her way into the topic…. her little personality, the chaos that typically ensues around bath time…. all reminders of how blessed we are to be able to come home to her and our little life.
I hope you all had a great weekend with those you love…. here’s to a great week ahead!!
{Stopped by one of our favorite breakfast spots in Santa Barbara on our way up.}
{Gorgeous fall colors…. at the start of winter…}
{We bought a bottle, and enjoyed a nice lunch, at Lincourt Winery… sweater, mules, sunglasses}
{We enjoyed a drizzly morning walk along the streets of Solvang / coat (c/o), leggings, sneakers}
{Completed the trip with breakfast at The Shop Cafe + Booch on draft}

Stay tuned later this week for a delicious cookie recipe… and hoping to provide you with a video of a recent favorite workout!
In preparation for a few posts, and as well as this weekend’s trip, I found some pieces that I thought I’d share with you… as always some new favorite basics include this rose colored braided detail pullover, french terry stripe pullover, cowl neck sweater poncho, oversize fleece tee (I love both colors), this sweater tank (which would layer perfectly with a leather or suede jacket), charcoal turtleneck sweater, black and white stripe cold shoulder top, and this loose fitting cold shoulder top. I also like this hooded sweatshirt dress. My eyes have been on these black overalls for a couple of seasons now…. so maybe now is as good a time as ever!?
I added these textured black mules and black espadrilles to my Christmas list… as well as these ear cuffs (I love how dainty they are, while still making a statement).
I’ve shared my gift guides for the little tike, woman, and man in your life…. so if you’re looking for a few stocking stuffer ideas, I found a few good ones, all under $50 (or just some smaller gifts for friends!). I think these gold stacking rings are gorgeous, this adorable pommed beanie, floral planner, the art of shaving kit, micro-striped socks for him, adorable gingham bow for little miss, and little fleece booties (so cute for a boy or girl!).
