It’s funny, whenever we have a particularly fun/different weekend I always assume I’ve snapped photos to capture it… but when it comes to pulling them all together, I realize I was too in the moment and actually have very few. Funny how that works…
Anyway, TJ + I celebrated our 11 year anniversary this past weekend and my parents took the girls for Saturday and night. Which meant TJ + I had a full 24 hours, solo, to do whatever we wanted (I use the term “whatever” loosely…). We almost didn’t know what to do with ourselves. Almost. We hiked our favorite spot in Laguna Canyon (all 10 miles of it), grabbed take-out lunch at a favorite spot, and then did nothing. And when I say nothing, I mean we didn’t have to get anyone snacks, play on the floor, vacuum up copious amounts of crumbs, or play “The Clean Up Song” on repeat to help facilitate clean up time. We did nothing in the most glorious sense. We talked uninterrupted. We ate dinner at a “normal” adult time (read: after 5:45pm). We ate our dinner uninterrupted. And managed to sleep until 9am…..
And then on Sunday morning, when it was time to pick the girls up, we happily fell back into our rhythm and routine of doing something every minute of the day with our two little loves… and very grateful for the quick solo time we received!
