May. Not sure how we made it to the fifth month of the year so quickly, but here we are. For us, this is the month that summer starts (school is out before Memorial Day…), we head out on our much anticipated, extended family, Hawaiian vacation (canceled three times over the past two years…), and where we begin to ease into the slower pace of summer (even though we’re still in spring)…
I think TJ and I reflected on this so many times this past weekend… how quickly this year has gone by. It seems that it started slow (as most Januarys do) but that each month has gone by faster than the last…
I saw this quote last week and felt it was so true….
“Most humans are never fully present in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But then you miss your whole life, which is never not now…” – Eckhart Tolle
And so we spent this past weekend being present playing tooth fairy (our second go at this…), making pancakes and breakfast burritos, heading down to the beach for a family lunch, and then playing outside on Sunday afternoon. I caught up with a girlfriend on a Sunday morning walk, we cleaned the patio off a bit, and now, we’re settling down to watching “The Dropout” (highly recommend…). It was a simple weekend, but it was a full one… one that, just as this year, went by too quickly…
With that, I hope everyone has a good day, and week, ahead!
