Weekend Recap: Hawaii Snippets

sandy beach oahu, itsy bitsy indulgences {An early morning sunrise… compliments of little miss still being on CA time}

I’m always sad when a trip comes and goes. I get used to vacation life. Being off schedule (I am such a routined individual), not really knowing what’s going on in the world… eating whatever I want…. drinking whatever I want…. and not wearing make-up or brushing my hair… it’s not a bad way to spend a few days. So, naturally, as we packed up our suitcases today, I started to tear up (I’m emotional like that….). I love being with my little family…. there were challenging moments that naturally accompany traveling with a baby (like the fact that Harper was teething the entire time…)…but there is just something about tackling them in a place where you have no agenda, and no other cares, that makes it a little easier.

Yet, at the same time, as much as I love going off the grid, I am looking forward to getting back into a routine. We’ve been traveling on and off for the past 8 weeks and to be honest, I’m looking forward to staying home for a while. Back to clean eating, consistently working out, nap schedules, and easy weekends. So, as I sit and type this at 12am (it was a late night flight for us) I am setting my weekly intention to be getting back into a groove and routine at home. I hope you all have a good one (oh, and a full Hawaii recap will be up in the next week or so.)!

So, I pretty much threw caution to the wind and ate (and drank) whatever I wanted. Needless to say, I am looking forward to getting back into a routine of clean eating and working out. I’m planning on following this meal plan pretty closely for the next week.

While I pretty much spent the weekend shoeless, makeup-less, and in cut-offs + a bathing suit…. I plan on getting back into my regular basics. I am currently coveting this side slit tee, blush ruffle jersey sweatshirt (which also comes in grey), a basic boatneck striped tee, and this mesh insert long sleeve tee (which comes in several color options). I also think this lightweight poncho is a chic, throw-on-and-go layering option (it comes in multiple colors too, but I’m leaning towards grey). Another excellent layering option is a thermal top…. and I’m loving this cozy option (just purchased it) or this striped one. There are also so many new cozy cardigan options out there. A few of my recent favorites include this oversized one in fawn and this grey fringed option. I also think this cream colored high low sweater is gorgeous. If you’re looking for something a little more lightweight, this sweater tank is a great option.

I recently had to retire my calf print flats and am in the market for a new pair. I think this loafer is gorgeous and I love this little matching bootie for little miss. I’d likely pair those loafers with these olive green jeans or this black pair of distressed jeans (the raw hem on these beauties is amazing… and one I don’t think I could replicate on my own).

As we enter into the holiday season, I get excited for the festive dressing. I just recently saw this gorgeous black lace top and this sequin blouse…. both would be perfect for any occasion.

I also went into Madewell the other day and their pieces for fall are perfect. I have my eye on this fringe jacket, this cream tassel cardigan (such a great layering option), plaid shirtdress (would likely pair with my favorite sneakers), and this black bell sleeve blouse.
