When all my girlfriends and I started getting married, I of course thought it was so special. It was something we had all talked about together over the years… those notes back and forth in high school, late night calls in college, and then the actual serious discussions post-college and graduate school…. it was a progression from futuristic “I wonder who we will marry” thinking, to a “wow, this could be real very soon” conversation. Yet, it wasn’t until we all started having children that it all seemed to come full circle.
I had brunch with one of my oldest friends this past weekend, and little Harper joined. After I left, I couldn’t help but think of all the fun times my girlfriend and I had together growing up… all the inside jokes, special memories, and support given to one another year after year. As I watch Harper meet all my girlfriends, I can’t help but hope that someday, she will watch these friendships, see the support and love we have for one another, and recognize the value of strong female friendships…. and that someday, she too, will sit at a brunch with her girlfriend and introduce them to her little bundle of joy. I love that progression of life. It’s a special one indeed.

If you’re looking for a delicious, and healthy, soup for a cold evening, check out my favorite lentil bean soup. We had it tonight, and I was reminded how much I love it!
I was perusing on-line this weekend, and I am loving all the new items at Banana Republic right now.. and they’re currently offering 40% off today. I’m loving this stripe button down top, these cropped flares (love that they come in petite too!), and this white dress is perfect for Easter and Spring/Summer. I guess I’m on a tad of a dress kick right now. I’m looking at dresses that are casual for day, but easy to dress up for an evening out. I’m eyeing this frayed chambray number and this black and white striped dress. For a casual day I scooped up these cut off denim shorts (at a great price point!) and this drape front jacket (super versatile too!). We’re also heading down to San Diego next weekend, and I’m loving this open fringe cardigan and oversized denim shirt for the cooler evenings.
