Weekend Recap

I read somewhere, and I can’t remember where (I’ve spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to figure out the source), that much happiness is derived from anticipation and having something to look forward to (again, I’m summarizing)… and this doesn’t have to be tangible. It can be simple things like a walk with a friend, looking forward to reading a book at the end of a long day… or bigger events such as a trip.

So as we head into the week ahead, it always brings with it a sense of “here we go again.” Yet I started the week a bit differently this time around and created a list of the things I have to look forward to as we move throughout the week.

Champagne Friday out of new champagne glasses (that came highly recommended)

A friend’s 40th birthday celebration

Changing up my nail color from red to a new pretty pink shade

A new intervals run from Robin Arzon on the Peloton that I’ve heard is amazing…

Relatively simple things, but when the day felt a bit frenzied on this rainy Monday morning (So. Cal doesn’t know how to do rain) thinking about this small list had me feeling much better. It’s definitely worth a try!

And speaking of lists, on deck for this week is an easy 5 day meal plan full of recipes for a busy week, how I am wearing pops of pink + red, and hopefully 20+ ways I’ve been wearing Adidas Samba sneakers.

With that, I hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead!

A Friday lunch date with TJ to kick off the weekend… jeans, sweater, identical vest, sneakers

It was a gloomy weekend… but nice and cozy…

Cozy blush pajamas for the weekend…

Off to birthday celebrations for my sweet little niece… jeans, belt, top)

Family Pictionary night…

The best baked egg skillet for Sunday morning breakfast…

Casual Sunday outfit for lunch and football with the family… leggings, sweatshirt, vests, sneakers, bag

(Closing out the weekend with a good book and some peppermint tea….

Vuori has some new arrivals that I purchased and can’t wait to try out… I love these ribbed tie waist leggings, this oversized ivory pullover, one of these basic tanks in black (I have it in a salt color and wear it all the time in warmer temps), and this canyon jacket in white (which I have in the green color). I also love this super soft “coat” (which fits so nicely). And they just restocked one of my favorite workout dresses.

A few warm weather staples from last year that are back in stock include these scoop neck basic tanks (I wore them all the time), great cutaway tanks, this linen skort, grey ribbed maxi dress, and my favorite linen shorts.

We are planning our spring break trip and a few things I’ve “hearted” include this oversized crochet dress, metallic sandals (I own them in white and wore them non-stop last summer), ivory maxi dress (love the neckline), fringe dress (so unique), beaded bag, and this navy two piece suit.

Love the colors on these trainer sneakers….

After having these jeans in my “hearts” folder for months, I finally purchased them. Still waiting for them to arrive, but I am sure they will need to be hemmed and adjusted to accommodate the style, but if they fit I think they’re a great “dressier” jean.
