When Harper and Camille were itty bitty I had free range with what I wanted to dress them in… beautiful mauve tones, cozy grey sets, ivory shades (because they weren’t playing in the dirt), and all the neutral shades in between. Yet, as Harper started to get older (I’d say this started around 2ish) she began to have a strong preference for what she wanted, and did not want, to wear… which typically involved no pants, dresses, neon + primary color shades, and everything that my neutral loving wardrobe screamed against.
So instead of fighting the battle, I decided it was one that I would pass on (there are others, like, “Yes, indeed you must brush your hair and teeth every morning…” that I do choose to battle with….). Knowing that Harper’s selection in clothing was a direct reflection of who she was, I simply placed a few limits on what she could/couldn’t wear: it needed to be weather appropriate (i.e. no biker shorts, tanks, and sandals in pouring rain) and if there was an occasion that required a certain dress code (i.e. family photos) I engaged her in selecting what she would wear for the day.
That being said, now that Camille wants to be Harper’s twin (literally, does everything Harper does) I know that what Harper wears, Camille will want to wear as well…
So when it came time for updating Harper + Camille’s wardrobe a bit (they grew so much over the past few months their pants were too short + none of their shoes were fitting) we began our search at Nordstrom, since they always have the best shoes + clothing for kiddos (and I love their buy online, pick up curbside option). Harper was immediately drawn to these adorable sparkly pink slip-ons (they’re super comfortable for them) and this adorable, brightly colored, tie dye jogger + hoodie set… and so I knew that Camille would naturally love the items as well. And I wasn’t wrong. When we headed out to pick up some hot coco this past weekend, Harper came out wearing the set + Camille immediately pulled hers out as well. I guess I’ll just forever be the neutral loving side kick to these bright colored loving cuties!
If you’re looking for a few other items for your little ones, we also think these leopard sneakers, polka dot top, tie dye peplum top, and this unicorn sweater, all from Nordstrom, are adorable!
