Spring has always been one of my favorite seasons. The new smells, pastel colors, and longer evenings lends itself to a pre-summer state of mind. I’ve found myself arriving home from work, less rushed, and moving a little slower. Walks to the park with Captain, being able to BBQ dinner, and actually being able to catch a sunset have been small indulgences that have me pushing through the normal work day. And, since a new season often means new activities, we’ve compiled a list of our Spring Must-Do’s below. Whether we will get to them all or not, I’m not sure, but a girl can wish right??! Also, we are hosting an absolutely fabulous giveaway today, so be sure to check that out at the end!!
1. Visit a local garden. I am dying to visit this one in Carlsbad.
2. Host a rosé tasting party. This one was so fun last year, and it’s such a simple way to enjoy being outside with those you love most.
3. Sign up for a fitness challenge, or revisit a fitness favorite. I haven’t run a half marathon in two years… I’m thinking it’s about that time. I also can’t rave enough about a good spin class… if you haven’t tried it, it’s one of the best ways to get bikini ready.
4. Go on a hot air balloon ride over Temecula Wine Country…. and maybe sip a little vino while we’re up there (so out of character, right??).
5. Visit a local farmer’s market and pick up some juicy fresh spring fruits and veggies. Strawberries, pineapples, mangos, oranges, spinach… the possibilities for recipes are endless. We’re going to be making juices as well as using the fruits as alternatives to the traditional added sugar heavy desserts.
6. It’s time to freshen up with new beauty hues! Loving this bronzer, lip gloss, and blush! We’ve often suggested to clients, when they’re in a slump, to do something nice for themselves. 9 times out of 10 they opt for a manicure/pedicure, or a new lip gloss, and report feeling better 🙂
7. Visit a local winery. No need to head out to one of the major wine regions, some of your local spots can have hidden gems. Spring is the perfect time as the vineyards are just now starting to grow back and the wineries are often releasing new vintages 🙂
8. Start an herb garden. Allison started her’s last weekend. It’s a small way to contribute to healthy living, since herbs are a perfect way to add flavor to your foods without other, less healthy options (salt, butter….).
9. Go on a hike and explore a little 🙂 On our list? A few hikes in Malibu (waterfalls and all), as well as a few in the San Diego area (a favorite is Torrey Pines).
10. Go on a pic-nic. Pack up some healthy treats, maybe a little vino, a blanket, some friends, and enjoy the sunset with good conversation :).
11. A few Spring accessories to get that wardrobe ready for warmer temps: these sunnies (25% off!), ring, and scarf/coverup (two for one!).
