I thought yesterday was Monday… until someone kindly reminded me it was Wednesday… so that was a pleasant surprise… always better than thinking it’s Wednesday on a Monday. So now that we’ve established that we’re in fact on the tail end of a short week, I’m chatting Nordstrom sale today….
I’m basically doing what I’ve done over the past several years, which is rounding up my go-to items that we already own, and would recommend, and then I sharing a handful of items that I have my eye on. It’s hard for me to purchase fall clothing, when I’m still in the middle of summer, and loving all things summer (swimsuits, shorts, linen tanks, etc…), so I’ve found that this is what works best for me. And, to be quite honest, I’ve found so many of the fall items go on sale even more in October and November.
That being said, I’ve broken it down into categories of what we own: clothing for women, clothing for men, beauty (so many of my favorite hair products), family (if you’re in the market right now, there are some really great products), and then what I have on my wishlist (I was a bit underwhelmed this season, so It’s mainly pajamas, a splurge item, and some home items).
So if you’re shopping and looking for something, I hope that this is helpful… and if not, feel free to pass on this post… (also, I know the sale opens at different times for everyone, so sharing this at the start for later reference)
Have a great weekend ahead everyone (feels funny to write that when I just did a weekend recap post yesterday….)
_______
QUILTED JACKET: So I got this right after Christmas for winter running and I love it! It’s mixed media, but can be worn with joggers or leggings… this season it looks like the arms are made of fleece versus the stretchy material mine is made from (you can see it in the first collage of the post).
BAREFOOT DREAMS CARDIGAN: Seriously so soft and comfy for just about anything- lounging around the house, running errands… pair it with leggings, joggers, or jeans and it’s sure to elevate your comfort level. My sister and I both have this one and it’s a great style! (see image below)
AIRLIFT LEGGINGS: Hands down one of my all time favorite leggings- they are high waisted, hug in all the right places, and are so comfortable. I own them in 4 different colors and they’re my go-to during cold weather workouts. I find them to run true to size and don’t have to pull them up or down during workouts. (see image below)
RIBBED HENLEY SWEATER: This was a sweater I purchased almost two seasons ago, in a grey color, and it’s a great option for the fall season. It’s not super heavy, but the henley style makes it feel casual and laid back. Sharing an image of it below:
COZY ROBE: This robe is barefoot dreams, and it feels like you’re wrapped up in a soft blanket… but it’s not super heavy, so I can still wear it during the summertime. I bought mine last November, and it’s still in excellent condition, and I reach for it daily… (see image below)
RIBBED BIKER SHORTS: I bought these at the sale last season and they’re great for warm weather workouts… they have a pocket for keys and again, stay put while you’re working out. (see below, they came in this pink color last year)
SOFT POCKET LEGGINGS: If you’re looking for an amazingly soft pair of leggings, these are the perfect option. I bought them at the Nordstrom Sale in 2020 and have been wearing them ever since. You can lounge around in them, or toss them on with a pair of shoes for a walk or errands… (see image below)
FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS: I’ve had these for 4 years- I first purchased them when I was pregnant with Camille and they’re been a staple ever since. I love how they elevate basic leggings, and they are great in the fall and winter seasons. So many different styling options as well! (see below for how I wore them traveling)
VINTAGE STRAIGHT JEANS: If you’re looking for a pair of jeans without distressing and some slight stretch then these are a great choice. I did find them to run a little large, so I sized down and they ended up fitting perfectly. I own this style in 2 colors…. super comfortable! My pair has slight distressing, but they’re the same style, just a different wash (see below)
RUNNING SOCKS: I’ve been wearing these running socks for 4 years and they’re great- the perfect level of thickness, but not too much that your feet feel tight in your running shoes. They’re no-show, and I can’t recommend them more!
ADIDAS ULTRABOOST SNEAKERS: My go-to running shoes for the past 3 years- I can’t recommend these more! They’re super cushioned and padded and I have run two half marathons wearing them. They used to run large, but the last few times I’ve purchased them they’re run true to size…
SEAMLESS THONG: LOVE these! They’re seamless which means no show… and so very comfortable! I stock up on them every single year the sale comes around.
BAREFOOT DREAMS BLANKET: I didn’t understand what the hype was about this blanket- my sister has like 3- but then I ordered one at the sale last season and I have officially dubbed it “mom’s blanket” haha. It’s seriously the best. I use it year-round… if you love to be cuddly and comfortable. I can’t recommend it more!
CHEESE BOARD: I purchased this last October and it’s been so great for serving appetizers on… it’s a good size, very well made, and overall just a great home item to have for entertaining…
BEAUTY
OLAPLEX HAIR CARE SYSTEM: I’ve been using the Olaplex hair cares system for over a year now and love how healthy it has helped my hair become. I wrote a post on it here!
SCALP REVIVAL KIT: I sing this scalp revival kit so many praises because I feel as if it’s the one product that has helped my hair to grow faster! Ever since I started using it, about 1.5 years ago, my hair started sprouting. I’ve read that a clean scalp promotes hair growth, so I figured I’d give it a try and have been SO happy with the results.
HAIR TOWEL: My hair holds so much moisture (as does Harper) and this towel does a great job of absorbing it, without creating any damage. We have three of these in our home and I’ll likely scoop up this two pack at the sale this season!
SUPERGOOP SUNSCREEN: I have 3-4 brands of sunscreen that I love, and this is one of them… especially the glow stick! It leaves such a beautiful glow on the face and shoulders!
HAIR STRAIGHTENER: I’ve had this hair straightener for 6 years now and it’s still going strong- highly recommend if you’re in the market!
FAMILY
DIONO RADIAN CARSEAT: This carseat is AMAZING! We purchased it for my parents when my niece was born because it acts as a rear facing carseat, a forward facing toddler car seat, and a forward facing booster seat… so work for all of their grandchildren! Highly recommend if you’re in the market!
CYBEX UMBRELLA STROLLER: We love this umbrella stroller. We purchased it last year for Camille and it’s awesome… it folds into the smallest little square, so great for traveling… is lightweight, and easy to collapse. It’s the only stroller we use now.
UPPABABY STROLLER: This was the stroller we used for Harper, then for Camille… and I can’t recommend it more! It’s so easy to use, and I love that it grows with your family! The storage under the carriage is really great as well!
THULE DOUBLE JOGGER: This was the double stroller we used when Camille was born… and it’s amazing. Glides to smoothly, has great storage capacity, and the girls were always really comfortable!
FIRST FOODS SET: We used this with both girls and loved how soft it was and easy to wash/use. It makes a great gift as well.
MESH OVERLAY DRESS: I purchased this for the girls at last year’s sale (it was a light pink overlay) and they loved it- so soft and comfortable and they wore it throughout the entire year (they actually wear it as a shirt with shorts now!).
Also looking at this floral dress and rainbow dress for the girls…
MEN’S
SOFT JOGGERS: We got they a few years ago and TJ’s worn them for traveling, lounging, and light workouts! They’re a great piece for working from home or off duty casual…
SLIM STRAIGHT JEANS: This has been TJ’s favorite denim style for about 5 years now- not too skinny, not too loose… a great slim fit that is super flattering and easy to dress up.
FIVE POCKET PANT: My dad and BIL got these first, and then TJ tried them on and was sold. They’re a step up from denim, but more casual than dress slacks… a great in between pair of pants. The material is sateen, which is why they are slightly more elevated than a pair of denim.
SPORTS COAT: This coat looks great with dress pants or denim… we bought it a couple of years ago for a work recognition trip we were going on for TJ and it was such a great coat…
HENLEY: One of TJ’s go-to basic henley tops- casual, comfortable, and easy to toss on with jeans or joggers.
BOXER BRIEFS: Tommy John Boxer briefs have been the go-to around here for a couple of years now… I’ve been told they’re very comfortable…
SLUB COTTON PULLOVER: TJ purchased this one day when we went to lunch at the beach, I told him it would be cold, he said he wouldn’t be, when we got down there it was freezing… .so he popped into this store and purchased this pullover. It’s a great casual throw on and go item… great for lounging, travel, or off duty looks.
WAFFLE KNIT PULLOVER: This is one of TJ’s favorite basic long sleeve tops- elevated with the waffle texture and slim fit. It’s included in the sale every year, and each year he adds a new color to his wardrobe.
DRESS SHOES + MATCHING BELT: The style and color of this shoes and belt combo is great… they look great with a suit or dress slacks, but also work with slim fitting denim.
DRIVING SHOES: One of the oldest pairs of shoes in TJ’s closet- comfortable, a great shoe for going out or business casual, and great quality.
