My Top 12 Items Every Gal Should Have In Her Closet

Whenever I closet purge, I am always left with the items that essential to my daily dressing…. it’s kind of how I am able to take inventory and figure out what’s working for me in my current state. This past weekend was no exception…. when I was done, I took a look around and discovered a trend…. everyday items, neutral colors, grab-and-go chic…. everything that makes my everyday wardrobe look pulled together. Today I shared my “Top 10 Everyday Items Every Gal Should Have In Her Closet” with Rank + Style, but thought that I would share them with you too (….I added two more here!!… I just couldn’t let them not make the list) in case you’re looking to streamline and make everyday dressing easy (I mean, who wouldn’t???)…..

1. TULA Eye Revitalizer: I’ve always had dark circles under my eyes…. so, I can’t really blame that one on parenthood (I blame it on horrible allergies). Yet, this stuff is pretty amazing. It has botox-like peptides which are meant to target fine lines, and it’s applied with a metal applicator that instantly cools the area…. and de-puffs t00. I recommend applying, and then waiting a good 10-15 minutes before applying make-up (or your under-eye concealer won’t look right).

2. Slip On Mules: I know, I know. I share these all the time. Seriously though, you will not regret having these in your closet. They are the easiest throw on and go pair of shoes…. can be dressed up and down… they’re incredibly comfortable, an excellent price point, and made well. They can easily transition to spring… and even well into summer with a cute sundress or cut-offs.

3. Transitional Suede Jacket: I love adding texture to an outfit with a suede jacket. They’re sleek + chic…. top it over a cami or thermal, paired with your favorite denim, and you’re good to go. I own this one  in navy blue (post here) but the camel color is gorgeous too (I’ve seen it in person).

4. Oversized Aviators: If you don’t trust me on the TULA product, you’ll need these (insert wink face). Just kidding. I’ve always loved aviators (until I dropped mine and they scratched so much I couldn’t see through them)… then I stumbled across this gold pair and fell in love (TJ said I look straight out of the movie “Blow…”, regardless, I love them….). They pretty much go with anything. I love this pair too (and they’ve been sitting in my “bag” for weeks). You can see them here.

5. Lightweight Duster Cardigan: I’ve been loving this trend for the past few seasons, especially for the Southern California winters and spring. Another easy throw on and go option for those rushed mornings. It’s also a nice change from cardigans that hit at the hip… I can’t wait to wear this one with my favorite denim shorts and cami in the spring. This option comes in so many gorgeous colors… I’m considering the beige. Post here.

6. Nude Lip Color: I’m planning a post tomorrow on some of my favorite neutral make-up items, but I think every gal needs a go-to nude lip color to apply on the go.

7. Wide Brimmed Hat: In another moment of self disclosure, sometimes a good dry shampoo + a wide brimmed hat are all that will work for my 5 days post shampoo hair. This was my favorite from last year, and continues to be a favorite as the temps fluctuate.

8. Slouchy Basic Tee: I mean, is there anything better than a tee that you can throw on and look effortlessly cool wearing? Didn’t think so. I have several of these, and I swear, they’re lifesavers in a pinch. Toss an oversized cardigan or utility jacket on over them and you’re ready in less than 30 seconds. My other all time favorite includes this deep v-neck option (such an excellent price).

9. Open Knit Pullover: I have been a fan of open knits for years… I love that they can be worn seamlessly across all seasons with simple layering tricks. My current favorites hanging in my closet include this nude option (just got it), this blue one (paired with my favorite denim jeans), and this beige one that I’ve been wearing for months (and is currently on sale… size up 2 if you want it to be a slouchy fit). You can see the post here.

10. Bell Sleeve Top: For me, personally, these are the perfect way to make an ordinary tee look special. I own about four, and rotate them all on the regular. You can pretty much wear them anywhere… work, lunch, date night, play date (especially the pink one I linked), brunch…. Toss one of these on and you’ll instantly look like you spent more than 1 minute planning out your outfit. I own this white one, grey tee, and black one… and I have my eye on this cozy fleece top, just have to decide which color). You can see the latest post with the white one here.

11. Distressed High Waisted Black Jeans: I swear by these. I wear them all the time. I actually bought them several years ago, when high waisted was coming back in style… and missed them so much when I was in my third trimester. They hug in all the right places and you can wear them across all seasons… just toss on your favorite white cami, open toed camel slides (or gold!), and above mentioned wide brimmed hat and your good for an evening out, sipping a little rosé fireside.

12. Gold Accessories: I think a simple gold bracelet, necklace, ring, or pair of earrings can bring any outfit together. I often find myself wearing my favorite basic tee + jeans, and tossing on one of my favorite gold accessories… it makes it all feel complete. I shared my favorite accessories in this post, but some of my go-to’s on a daily basis includes this crescent pendant necklace, gold collar necklace, stackable gold rings (I wear one on my thumb), and this simple bangle.
