I was up pretty much all night Wednesday evening monitoring contractions…. they were there a little before bed and I figured they’d wake me up if it was real labor… so off I headed to get some sleep. Around midnight I had the back aches + cramps that come with labor contractions and started to monitor them. Nothing consistent + nothing growing more intense. Just on + off for about 3 hours. I eventually fell back asleep. They most definitely weren’t Braxton Hicks though, so who knows. I feel as if we’re in this awkward phase of pregnancy where you watch + monitor every small symptom….. All that to say, happy Friday! We have a family birthday celebration planned for Saturday, but after that, not much else. Trying to stay as low key as possible… get things done around the house… and wait. I hope you all have something fun planned for your weekend ahead!
Sharing all my favorite products from the month of March… since food has just not been sounding good, I haven’t tried anything new. Hoping to start including it again post pregnancy…….
__________
Kopari Coconut Toothpaste: I’ve been trying to find a natural toothpaste for over a year… and all of them have fallen just a little short. Either it doesn’t leave my mouth feeling fresh and clean… or I just can’t stomach the taste. So when I saw that Kopari came out with a new toothpaste I thought I’d give it a try… obsessed (and TJ is too). Leaves my breath feeling fresh + clean…. doesn’t have a disgusting taste…. and also has a whitening component with the activated charcoal. Once you get over the fact that it’s black, I think you’ll agree!
Colleen Rothschild Turmeric + Neem Brightening Mask: There is nothing I enjoy more on a Friday night than a good face mask (except when it’s paired with a glass of vino… but… you know…). So when Colleen Rothschild released this new mask I was all for giving it a try. I’ve been seeing so many products out there using Turmeric as a brightening agent, and this one does a great job of creating a brighter, glowing, complexion.
Jasmine Green Tea Toner: I started using this toner about a month ago… and I’d been on the search for one my entire pregnancy. I love how hydrated it leaves my skin feeling… and it helps with keeping my skin tone relatively even (no splotchy red spots). It’s an all clean product, which is always a major bonus in my book.
BECCA Ombre Eye Palette: I was on the hunt for a nude eye palette, so when I saw this one on-line I decided to give it a try (since I was already a fan of the brand). I think I’ve used it almost daily since. There are several different looks that I can easily create, depending on the day, with the one palette. And since I don’t like spending an inordinate amount of time on my make-up this palette makes doing my eyes a cinch….
Comfy Lounge Pajama Set: (featured above) What I love about this comfortable shorts + top combo is that you can easily wear them together, or with other lounge pieces that you have around the house… and the top is cute with jeans or shorts as well. It’s super soft, lightweight, and great for the spring + summer months. Currently 20% off with code EVENT19
Neutral Suede Jacket : I actually bought this jacket two years ago in a grey shade and have been obsessed with the fit + style since. So when I saw that it came in a beautiful nude hue for spring I didn’t think twice. It’s such a great option for cooler morning + nights… as well as those chillier spring days. I layer it over dresses, jumpsuits, or wear it with jeans. I own it in the fawn color….
Rope Tote Bag : Snagged this cute little rope tote bag for spring + summer over on Amazon (it’s a dupe for this one) and couldn’t be happier with it. It’s such a unique shape, great quality, and I wear it all the time.
Tinley Earrings: I was recently introduced to Miranda Frye jewelry and I love the edgier look to her pieces. I’m sure you’ve seen these earrings in so many of my most recent posts, but they’re literally on my ears daily. To say I’m obsessed would be an understatement. Lightweight (read: they don’t pull on my earlobes) + just the perfect size they work for everyday wear nicely. You can get 10% off with code SHANNON
Beek Sandals: An investment sandal for sure, but they really make a beautiful subtle statement with any basic outfit. Comfortable enough for all day wear, and made so well to last across multiple seasons. I have pairs of Beek sandals from 3 years ago that still look brand new!
White Camisole: This was a piece I purchased when LOFT was having one of their amazing sales and I am so glad I did. It fits so nicely over the bump (wearing a S) and will fit great postpartum as well…. the scalloped neckline gives it a feminine look, and it’s double lined so it’s not very see through. Such a beautiful piece to layer under a cardigan or jacket… or wear it alone front tucked into jeans or cut-offs. I think I’ve worn it at least once a week since receiving it.
Lariat Necklace: I bought this right before TJ + I headed on our babymoon and am so happy I did. It’s a piece that has easily made it into my daily rotation of necklaces because it easily layers with other favorites I own. Plus the length was exactly what I was looking for… (20% off with code EVENT19)
White Fedora: I have a few favorite brands when it comes to hats, but one of my all time favorites is Janessa Leone. Her hats are an investment, but I always find myself reaching for them over + over again, season after season. So well made and an easy way to cover-up hair that hasn’t been washed recently (not that that’s ever my problem). I bought this white fedora and it’s gorgeous….
Ribbed Jumpsuit : So I purchased several different items to wear to my “sprinkle” lunch… this jumpsuit being one of them. When I took it out of the box my initial thought was “This is going to look horrible.” Then when I put it on, my mind changed instantly. It fits like a dream (I did get the legs shorten and taken in slightly since I sized up for the bump) and I know that it will be great postpartum too since I can easily wear it while nursing. It’s stylish, comfortable, and I love the crisp white color for spring + summer.
Embroidered Maxi Dress: The ultimate in the boho flowy dresses category. It’s oversized, so beware…. but it’s also such a versatile piece. You can wear it with a slip underneath for some weekend fun, or even just wear it as a cover-up in the summer months. I fully plan on belting it postpartum.
Enza Costa Dress: Wearing this dress as I type this sentence. I wasn’t sure if it would be worth the price tag, but it hands down is. The material is super soft, and fits the body so nicely. I also love the nude color, but it comes in a lot of other color options too. It has for sure been one of my go-to pieces this pregnancy!
